What is the battery size for this Droid Turbo ? To power that QHD Display I hope it's at least 3,000mAH if not higher. Anything less, and I will pass.

The FCC listing showed a battery model EQ40. The below image is purported to be the EQ40, and it says 3900mAh.

A new Nexus phone is always exciting, but a 5.5 screen would have been ideal, just like the G3. Having on screen buttons the overall size of the phone would have been manageable.

This, 5.9", could have to do with a deal between Google and Motorola not to have a cheap Nexus phone in direct competition with Motorola's main flagship.

Why would Google ever make that deal? Not to mention every single Nexus phone has been in direct competition with (and based off) that manufacturer's flagship for that year.

What electronics said. If the phone is 5.9" it will have nothing to do with possibly competing with the moto x. Hell, one could easily argue the moto x is the better buy b.c you get near stock plus the added hands free commands.

The HTC nexus 9 is rumored to be announced next week. Hopefully that means we see the nexus 6 announcement next week, pre-orders the following week, and delivery a week after (early november).

Google’s Nexus 6 release time frame has been confirmed

Google will unveil a Nexus smartphone this month, The Wall Street Journal has learned from three people familiar with the matter, although actual launch details have not been revealed. While it didn’t say the handset will be sold as the Nexus 6, the publication confirmed its internal code name, “Shamu” after a killer whale, adding that the handset will have a 5.9-inch high-resolution display and will be sold under the Nexus brand.

I wouldn't take phones, as the N4 and N5, with average cameras and batteries to be candidates to compete with the full spec-ed flagships like the LG G2 for example. The rumored specs of the N6, if true, would make it a serious contender. Furthermore as speculative as my thought was, and we are in the land of speculation, one of the reported reasons Google sold Motorola was because they didn't want to frighten or anger other companies.

With that logic, the HTC One M7 was never a "full spec-ed flagship" since it had a mediocre camera and the battery life was nothing short of mediocre.

haha imagine a 5.2" nexus with at 3900 mAh battery. It would be heaven!

Agree...pure heaven though id be very surprised. I know some will welcome the 5.9" screen but im not one of them. I think it hurts sales more than it helps though the Nexus phones have never been huge sellers.

Do people really find replaceable batteries more practical than say an Anker external battery?
If you plan on keeping a phone for 3 years or more then a replaceable battery is a must, since batteries tend to get worse with time, so being able to buy a new official battery and change it yourself without having to send the phone to warranty is really useful.

What

Uh, maybe the holy grail first original Nexus phone is all  The HTC Nexus-One.

OK my bad.

That and the HTC One M7 is a Google Play Edition phone. That's pretty much a Nexus since it gets updates directly from Google.

Now we are exaggerating and derailing completely from the original thought. But considering your persistence, I'd say we won't agree and that too is fine.

All the Nexus 6 rumors seemed to have dried up recently

Couple weeks ago rumors were flying in left and right, and now that we are even closer to an announcement, no news. Hmm...

Maybe we really are getting a 5.9" and a 5.2". Some rumors point to a droid turbo based nexus and others point to a moto S based nexus. I hope both are true .

Swap a battery or carry around/attach it to a brick...

answer is obvious

Yeah but it's not really practical when you're swapping the batteries to keep both charged unless there is an external battery charger that I don't know about.
