Considering the camera on the new Moto X is not that great I guess it will also be a letdown again in the new Nexus.

That design is gorgeous, and then think about it's specs: QHD display, 3GB RAM, Snapdragon 805, pure Android L, etc.

Downside will be camera and battery again I presume. Remember it's not a FHD display, it's a 6 inch QHD display!! The G3 already suffers a lot from its QHD display with a 3000 battery, so image a 3200 battery having to power an even bigger display.

I would bet on 4:30/5 hours SOT.

Also, I hope 32GB is the new minimum. Don't you dare Google to give me again 16GB :mad: It's the only model available where I live and that wont cut it anymore.

EDIT: Waaaaaaiiiiiiiiiittttttttt!!! That forbes article says both devices will have expandable memory!!!!!!

Didnt you read this 3900 mAh battery rumor?
I did not notice expandable memory but if that is the case I will probably go for Nexus 6 over Note 4...

The G3 is a bad comparison, the better comparison would be the Note 4, and that has been winning top awards for battery life in very recent reviews.

The Note 4 is a large 5.7" screen 1440p device, but with the Snapdragon 805, and a 3220mAh battery, and is has been showing amazing battery life in recent tests, with 6h / 6.5h Screen On time.

The Note 4 and Nexus 6 look to have extremely similar specs; same processor, same GPU, same screen resolution, same memory, and battery size very close 3220mAh = Note 4, and 3200mAh = rumored for Nexus 6.

True. Forgot about the Note 4, although I think Samsung always does a lot of background work with their flagships.

I hope Android L and project Volta bring similar enhancements.

If it's really coming out tomorrow, then it's even better that it's on a Wednesday. Last year the N5 was launched on a Thursday and a lot of people started getting the phone on Monday of the following week.

Hopefully the Nexus 6 matches the Note 4 battery life ? The N4 and N6 look to share nearly identical hardware and screen specs.

Android L is supposed to be better on battery life in general by default, and I would think better than the Note 4 Touchwiz running 4.4.4 ?

Report: Google to announce Nexus 9 and Nexus 6 tomorrow, retail availability in November
http://9to5google.com/2014/10/14/nexus-9-price-availability-nexus-6-specs/

According to a new report out of Forbes, Google will announce both the Nexus 9 tablet and Nexus 6 smartphone tomorrow. The report claims that Google had originally planned to hold an event for the devices, but decided it against it due to it wanting to continue to fine tweak Android “L” until the last-minute. Instead, both of the devices will be announced via a blog post.

Is retail availability same as online ordering? If so October is going to be a long month.

IIRC, both the nexus 4 and 5 had announcements, pre-orders happened the following week, and the devices shipped the following Friday. They always do a Friday ship damnit!

This would be more in line with the November 3 sale date rumors. I think tomorrow they announce the device, next wednesday we can preorder, and on October 31 they start shipping.

Fully agree...
I remember online availability was on the 31st of october for Nexus 5 for some countries, longer list including India was later in November

I'm hoping for SD card option. I believe the Forbes article is referring to the two different Nexus 9 models, not to the Nexus 6, though.

Personally if I can't have 128GB or more (via SD card or otherwise), that is a dealbreaker.

I thought about that too, but he says "both devices" instead of models, but you're probably right.

I have this storage constraint as well, with same threshold in mind. Hopefuly 128GB micro sdxc is rather cheap now.
I can not believe dome phones are still produced with 32 GB embedded in 2014 whereas that was already the case in 2009...

New Pic from Evleaks:

If that image is accurate, is that the power/lock button right above the volume? The Nexus 7 has this button placement, and I absolutely hate it; I'm always accidentally pressing power/lock when I meant to press volume. The Nexus 5 isn't like this (volume on left, power on right).

Edit: I suppose this configuration is more useful when you have it in landscape mode with one side resting on something -- all buttons can be accessible from the top in that case.

Notice how the power button is ridged? That should prevent you from accidentally hitting it instead of the volume rocker b/c your finger will quickly learn the different in feel.

That seems to be the problem. It will probably be a massive phone with a massive battery and still not get through a day.

hopefully that last video is an indication they are making a nexus android wear watch. I remember last year it was in the works.

It just seems Google doesn't know how to optimize, or put a big enough battery to keep it going.

I'm hoping the Nexus 6 has a massive battery because it is between this and the iPhone 6.

I bought an iPhone 6 Plus, but got lucky since bendgate occurred before I had time to unpack mine. Lucky demand is so high I doubled my money selling it easily.

Now that the very impressive Nexus 6 is soon to arrive I'll buy one of those. I've had such a terrific year with my Nexus 5 but wanting a larger display the N6 is perfect.

I must admit I'm shocked Jon Ive couldn't make the huge iP6+ smaller. It's only got a 5.5" display, yet it's noticeably larger than the Nexus with it's gorgeous very spacious 5.9" display.

You've got to hand it to Motorola, they are offering a very attractive line of phones.

What.....

How does this relate to my post? I said I'm getting the normal 6....

Also, that being issue way way overblown and I personally feel it wasn't a smart move to sell the + because of something you heard on the internet.

My coworker has the iphone 6, and outside of being thinner it feels larger then the n5 in hand.

I dont know how legit this is, but here is a mockup compared to the 6+
