Nexus 6 speculation

Honestly this is pretty much everything i'm looking for in a phone. Great design and great hardware. An micro SD card slot would have been the icing on the cake but all things considering, that would have almost been asking for too much.

Providing you like to tweak the settings and providing Xposed gets rapidly and securely ported to ART, then you can make almost any app you want go immersive with the App Settings module. Couple that with the pie controls from GravityBox and you get your controls one slide away.

But from what I hear, the support isn't really at all that great. The Play store is far better. I got the N5 RMA'd twice no hassle whatsoever.
I've had both an HTC One and SGS2 and returned both of them for an iPhone in the past.
But woah, the Nexus 6 looks amazing! Great screen, Front-Facing speakers, the 80% charge in 15 minutes is killer if it really works and Google seems to be finally getting its OS game together. And the dimensions seem to be similar to the Plus but with a 6" screen, or am I incorrect?
Anyone have any negatives for why I shouldn't cancel my Plus order and wait to preorder this? Feeling like I might be making the same mistake I've made before, but really liking the look of this...

At first I was leaning toward a Note 4 to replace my Note 3 but realize it is just more of the same. Then I had been contemplating my return to the iPhone with the 6 Plus, but dang the Nexus 6 looks AMAZING! I'll have to see this in person and then make my decision. I wasn't impressed with the Nexus 4, hopefully with the higher price tag here, they have made some quality improvements.
From what I've read, the support is basically zero as well. So if that's to be believed, it's almost a case of you get what you pay for (or don't). I'm a bit disappointed that the Nexus is going to be that expensive, but if it performs well, then that's what matters.

Agreed with you 100%! I'm afraid to purchase the Nexus 6 even on contract only to find out the Camera is terrible like other models. If so, I'm better off getting the Note 4. If they have finally fixed their camera woes, then I'm all in for the Nexus 6!
This Nexus 6 is what i've always wanted from Motorola and especially a Nexus device. Top tier specs, premium build and coming to Verizon. Now to decide between this and the iPhone 6+, god this is going to be one tough decision.
Not a tough decision. Simply ask yourself, do you want a device that is productive, or do you want to be tied down to a child's toy. Personally speaking, I think the Note 4 blows this out of the water. Design, specs, and hardware are all above par.
If they made a pure Google version of the note I would be more interested. Not a fan of Touchwiz.

I'm using a Nexus 5 and I love the feel of it in my hand, and yes, the Nexus 6 looks like a monster but I love it. This is Google saying **** it and just building a beast of a phone. The price is standard for flagship so I'm not quibbling. We got lucky with the Nexus 5, but it was unrealistic to believe that it would last.
I love the design. The screen will be beautiful.
My only concern is the thickness and how it'll feel in the hand. 10mm is quite thick, but I know that's only at the thickest part of the phone. Let's hope the curve helps make it feel much thinner. Either way, I'm genuinely surprised they couldn't find a way to make it as thin as 7 or 8mm, given how huge it is.

Blah, I'm still pissed they made it 5.9". Don't care about anything else. The cost is up and its too damn big. I mean damn, look above how much bigger it is than my Nexus 5. Disappointment.
The problem in my opinion is that it's too wide. They totally missed the point with this thing.
My guess is the reason behind its thickness is to make it bend proof
That or to make the camera flush.
It is good that the Nexus 6 wasn't leaked as much as the Nexus 5 last year because the design came out as a bit of a surprise. Motorola might have actually designed this better than their own Moto X of this year. Yeah, it looks similar but that back looks good with the Kevlar coating.
Glad Google finally went back to a great HARDWARE maker. HTC and Motorola are very close at having the best build quality among Android OEM's. Samsung and LG are not Top 5 to me in either design and build quality. Asus is better than both in those areas. Nexus 6 might be the best-looking Nexus phone since the Nexus One. Makes you easily forget the plastic or fragile glass quality of the previous four gens. Nexus 5 had good quality but a very bland design. My least favorite was the Nexus S.
Kudos to Motorola for actually trying harder like HTC did nearly five years ago. Samsung and LG were too worried making the Nexus better than their own flagships. Motorola might actually surpassed their's in this one.

This is one big phone, but given android L and the specs of the Nexus 6, I might be lured permanently away from Samsung for my android fix in the future.
Samsung made android palatable. Android L now makes skinning somewhat unnecessary.

Far too big. Oh well, looks lovely and I'm sure it's great. Look forward to getting L on my N5.
