What will the Nexus be missing this round? :T

The Nexus line offers a great bang for your buck, but I can't help but feel there's always something missing. They do seem to get better and more well rounded each time around, though, so we'll see. I still have my eyes set on the MX2 and iPhone 6 until then.

That's the thing ghough - great bang for you buck .. you want "more" - you pay "more" :)

I have QHD on my LG G3 and basically cannot tell the difference unless I hold the phone about an inch from my cornea.

I do think it's a bit pointless right now whilst battery savings would be more useful.

I'm actually scared of these manufacturers... what will be next after QHD???

Super QHD? 4K display on a phone?

Eventually something bigger will come. They won't stop at QHD :D:D

Motorola event happening Sept 4th.

It's really going to come down to the MX+1 and Nexus 6 this year, I think. And if the Nexus 6 is based off of the MX+1, it'll be interesting to see which way people will lean between the two. They'd both, in theory, be very very similar, especially now that Motorola has been so good at updating to the latest OS versions. Price might be a factor. Custom colors for the MX+1 might be a factor.

Will be an interesting Fall, for sure.

Thats my thought as well. Whichever i get, my Nexus 5 goes to the Wife. Id still like to get a Windows phone as well though. Just dont know what id want since the 930 isnt an option so i may wait to see what comes next.

So tempting.

It's between the Note 4 and Nexus 6 for me (yes, vast difference there).

If I was going to go Moto X+1, I'd probably just get the Nexus instead given the more consistent software updates and level of support.

These are my two choices as well with a slight edge to the Nexus. Pure Google, no bloat, and wireless charging topping the list.

I wonder when Google is going to leak the Nexus 6. Last year they did it in a video.

The Nexus 6 might be one of eight hot new phones Motorola launches this fall
http://bgr.com/2014/08/21/nexus-6-rumors-specs/

TKTechNews has also provided a picture of a purported Nexus 6 handset, which displays specs for the handset, including a 2K display of unknown size, Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 CPU, 13-megapixel camera and AOSP version of Android L. The device is clearly branded as a Google handset, assuming the image (available below) is accurate.

If it is Motorola i'm just hoping for worldwide availability and in design, it does not utilise a rubberized back. Spec wise its looking decent and i'm liking the idea of different sizes. The only thing for me now is price.

All Nexus 5 devices are back in stock on Google's website except 16Gb red.

I just don't see this new Nexus 6 starting at 349 with those specs. That's pretty shocking.

Google Nexus 6 update: Motorola working on handset
http://www.christiantoday.com/artic...n.nexus.handset.plus.mid.range.line/39862.htm

The company, now owned by Lenovo, is reportedly working on the upcoming Nexus smartphone. Speculations claim that the smartphone is the same as the previously rumored Droid Turbo headed to Verizon.

Motorola is reportedly working on the next Nexus smartphone called "Shamu". Android Authority got ahold of alleged photos of the new Motorola handset codenamed "Motorola XT1254."

Nexus X benchmarks confirm internals and that Android L is version 5.0

http://www.phonearena.com/news/Nexu...als-and-that-Android-L-is-version-5.0_id59778

The results confirm some items that we have known, like the Snapdragon 805 (APQ8084) processor clocked at 2.7GHz, the 3GB of RAM, the display resolution, and the 13-megapixel rear camera.

Bummer about that 5.9" screen. Hopefully there's an update to the Nexus 5 as well, but not looking likely.

Hope the Moto X+1 delivers or else it's back to the iPhone 6. I love everything about my MX, but I can't stand the camera.

5.9 screen would put me off. Give me top specs on 4.7-5" and I'm happy. They need to rethink this its a new year, so we must up size as well just for the sake of it..... 5.9" is way way too big. The Lumia 1520 is a lovely phone but the practicality of carrying a device that size as your primary daily device was too awkward for practicality sake.

I really don't see why google would do this. They already have low sales numbers. Which I know does not matter because it's the nexus program, but they have been getting bigger and bigger releases each year. Why would they hurt that by offering a 5.9" phone? I think that would kill sales. That is just way to big.
