Yawn. I don't care about specs, show me what it can do. Does it have 1080p video w/ an f2.4 lens? Does it have a personal voice assistant? If so then demo that, don't throw worthless specs at me. It's a phone, not a PC.

4.6 inch screen... Might as well call it the iPad phone. don't want a Hummer phone, thanks.

Eveyrbody criticized the 4S for being just a spec bump and not being innovative.

SO what is new and innovate in the Nexus Prime that is not in other android phones?

720p screen
ice cream OS (android 4)
curved glass
1080p @ 60fps
4.65 inch screen

It's all about the display size for them ;)

Kinda weird the flagship device has a rather disappointing camera, no? Also odd that they used the TI chip which has a worse GPU than the Samsung Exynos which in turn has a worse GPU than the Apple A5. Perhaps Apple is ordering way too many A5s that Samsung cannot produce enough Exynos?

Other than the screen size, how are those specs better than the iphone 4S. Seriously?

What? LTE, okay yeah. other than that. Bigger screen okay. Weaker camera. Weaker CPU. Less battery life. And you are cheering and drooling over this? Heck, the coming Android devices have way better specs. LG, for example. HTC anyone.

And it isn't about the specs, is it as good as ios? Your guys don't get it, it's about the software not the hardware. They have to do better than that.

Horrible battery life. Only 1750 battery for a LTE and a 4.65 screen phone, I guarantee it will suck down battery life like a yankees fan on a Heineken two for one night.

No thanks.

To the current iphone users. See when you get back from your experiment to Android.

Hopefully this time they will make the built-in keyboard pain-less to use. Oh the horrors!

It is more than a spec bump. Completely redesigned internals. That is not a spec bump.

Display size?

What we (potentially) have here is a slimmer, upgraded and redesigned phone compared to the Nexus S and Nexus One. It's looking like they didn't just throw new guts into the Nexus S's chassis.

LTE, real 720p, a curved screen, super thin and new OS.
If you dont think thats a big deal then I do not know what to tell you!!

No, they criticized it for being just a spec bump and not having a larger screen or other competitive features like 4G.

This phone has both.

Rumor has it that the Nexus Prime (Galaxy Nexus, whatever) will have a facial recognition lockscreen. And to those of you asking what's so different about it vs. the 4S, give me a break. 4.6" screen? 720p Super AMOLED HD display? 1.2 GHz dual-core CPU? LTE? NFC? Sure, some of that stuff is standard for an Android device but it's still a pipe dream in "Apple World". Don't get me wrong, I may still end up getting the 4S just because there's a lot of present (and future) apps that I don't want to give up, but you can't deny that from a hardware standpoint the Nexus is CLEARLY better. If I switch from the iPhone after being a loyal user for 3 years it'll be because of this device.

If this also has a microSD card slot to give me 64 GB total on board, I might have just changed my mind about purchasing a 4S 64 GB.

It does have 1080p video. It even has HD screen so you can watch HD videoo on the phone itself (but, of course specs do not matter). There is nothing special about f2.4 lens in the phones. HTC and Nokia phones have f2.2 lenses. More importantly, those phone lenses are still too minute to be considered anything decent anyways. All Android phones have voice assistant. Nobody uses it. Just like nobody is going to use Siri. Notice how nobody used Siri before it was incorporated into iOS. Why bother now? Because Apple said it's magical?

720p screen
ice cream OS (android 4)
curved glass
1080p @ 60fps
4.65 inch screen

720p - Sharp Aquas alreday has it
Ice Cream OS - I have seen nothing to show what ICS is going to bring to the table for end users, but it will be the first ICS phone agreed.
curved glass - Nokia N9 already had it plus other phones. Nothing new here
1080p @ 60fps - does look new
4.65 screen - that is almost getting too big, but ok.

So basically, new OS, better camera, and larger screen. Doesn't scream innovative to me.

Please be on AT&T. Icecream Sandwich supposedly adds hardware acceleration to the UI, which will get rid of the lag. Granted, vanilla Android already ran smooth.

That was actually WSJ that reported that and BGR linked to their story.

SN: Hope they have an unlocked version. Not going to VZW.

Wrong. They linked to the likely correct WSJ article which stated that Sprint had made x number of iPhones commitment. The addition of the iPhone 5 being exclusive to Sprint was 100% BGR.

I am confused? Are we not comparing it to the iphone 4S?

The iphone 4S has a better CPU, GPU, Camera, than the supposedly nexus prime.

While the nexus prime has a supposedly better connectivity with LTE, bigger screen and...................................what else. Battery life with LTE and a 4.65 screen I guarantee will be inferior. To the iphone 4S. Get ready to carry around a charger.

Does having LTE and getting a little more than 14.4 MPS worth it in decreased battery life. There is a reason Apple did not add LTE to the new iphone.

Real 720P what is that supposed to mean. The PPI is a little less than the iphone 4 and 4S. The iphone 4 and 4S has a PPI of 329, the new nexus prime a PPI of 320. So I don't know what you mean by Real 720P.

http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/1...s-up-shows-off-on-screen-buttons-and-320-ppi/

And doesn't the new iphone 4S have a new OS? Isn't the iphone 4S still super thin? Actually the thinnest right now. Yes the Galaxy thickest point is thicker than the iphone 4 and 4S. Curved screen. Ok, might be cool.

How about the OS, is it on par with IOS5, Siri? And don't don't give me that crap that Android has voice command like Siri, you know it and I know that is crap. Before it(Siri) was revealed voice command was just that voice command. Siri actually learns. Is innovative and actually usefull and people will use it. Get over it.

Again, what am I missing here?

Whats with the 5MP camera?

I'm sure this is the point where Android lovers say if they want a camera, they will just buy a standalone camera instead.

It's a matter of everything FINALLY being available in a SINGLE phone. Yes, all the technology has been there a while. But it's the first to feature pretty much EVERYTHING that is currently available, without holding back technology so that you buy the NEXT phone next year. This is a 2+ year phone. Apple needs to learn this lesson, as other manufacturers are.

The phone's hardware is excellent. But, software is more important to me. Hardware can only go so far, software is where usability comes in. I'll stick with iOS.

Apple fanboy will always find way to justify the outdated iphone.

Bigger screen, NFC & LTE....the 4S just barely caught up to the last generation htc and samsung
