Because popularity is directly proportional to the quality of the device, amiright?
I do understand wanting to stay within the Apple ecosystem though, it is hard to put that crack pipe down. The screen is edge to edge,and probally with hardly any bottom bezel,therefore making it not much bigger than the current nexus s,and as for the sub-par camera...well ummmm now let me see,wasnt there another certain phone with a 5mp camera,that if i remember correctly took quite good pictures...now what what is called...oh yeah the IPHONE4....the camera on this nexus will be excellent and more than adequate for 99% of users,this phone is not meant for David Bailey for christ sake....if you want a camera buy one....its a PHONE!!!!
To a photographer, they don't.

I'll put a 5 MP image taken with a Canon CMOS II sensor up against any 8 MP or even 12 MP picture taken by a cell phone.
The sensor is what matters.
I know the 5MP camera in my Atrix is crap. The sensor is garbage.
But the pics are fine for what I use them for.
How many people are really going to use their cell phone to take pictures that will be printed?
And of those, how many are going to print something bigger than a 4x6?
Truth is many will never do more than upload to Facebook of Flicker.
Again, for the millionth time. As discussed in this thread, how are the specs better than the iphone 4S.
I provided the points of why it isn't. What are your points of how they are? Pipe dream, try reality.
Recap for those not reading the thread. Now this is based on the specs. Supposodly. The real nexus prime might have better specs. But software matters most. But based what the specs are supposed to be.

Who was preaching on MR that pixels on camera != everything? And now the 4S has more camera pixels it's now suddenly better?
Who cares which CPU/GPU is better? If it's enough for all functionalities it's a good chip. Or is it now the time to look at benchmarks? (hint hint: what they said about Android fanboys last year)

Megapixels don't matter. Video resolution doesn't matter. You won't be able to see the differences.
I would imagine that this thing is going to have pretty poor battery life, though. You can't have a 4G phone with a 4.6" screen and get good battery life...it's just not possible yet.

This is innovative? Other than the curved glass, it's a spec bump and new updated OS. Sound familiar?? Now there's nothing wrong with a spec bump that makes a real difference is usability. But let's not pretend that the new nexus is anything more than that.

Again Apple gave us the iphone 5 specs in a iphone 4 body. What is so hard to understand about that? stop being delusional.
You Android fans crack me up. I love the way you downplay certain things as unimportant when they don't match up well against the iPhone. Come on, you can admit it, you will be disappointed if the Prime's camera doesn't match of well against the 4S?

Wrong wsj reported sprint committed to buying 30m iPhones. Nowhere in wsjs story does it say anything abut exclusive or iPhone 5. That was pure bgr.

The recent year of being told that "megapixels don't matter", "why do I need dual core in my phone" & "specs don't matter" have now gone away.
I predict the "It's a phone, not a tablet" crew will change their stance if the iPhone ever sees a bigger screen.

I thought this phone was going to be the SUPER PHONE? Specs wise it's right on par with the iPhone 4s ahead in some area behind in others.
And what's up with ICS. I haven't seen anything in it that blew me away. Someone please school me and tell me what's the major improvements in it.
Why are people so happy about NFC? Do you guys use it? I never been anywhere were a saw where you can use it. And LTE is great but it's now widespread yet.

People still don't get software, it's a software that running the hardwares.
All these Androids devices are hardware based and only has hardware upgrades.
I've used Android for a year and switched to back to Iphone and switched back to Android to give it a last chance.
I'm done with Android, their software is not as good as IOS, Youtube apps crashing during a clip, Skype keep lagging, browsing is laggy.
Even though Android always habe great specs, it's just not worth it.

Never said the 4s is or was better, that is personal preference on who like what.
I think that you know that the iphone 4S not only has more pixels, but everything else as well. They even mentioned at the keynote yesterday that "pixels don't matter' during the keynote. They explained in great detail why the camera is better than the iphone 4. If all things being equal hardware wise for the cameras, and the iphone 4s has more pixels I think we know which one is better. I doubt that they have the hardware the iphone 4S does as far as a camera goes.
Really, the leaked specs show 720P video.
I think that a LTE phone with a 4.65 screen and only a 1750 battery will have dismal battery life. Stop being coy. You know that.
It has a faster CPU and GPU, and by the way it does have better specs, again for the tenth time not that they matter. I said that what in this thread in just about every post. I don't care about specs.
i just find it funny that not one person, including yourself will not admit that the iphone 4S specs are superior in alot of aspects. Was that not the point of the whole Apple sucks, they failed posts yesterday?
But when the nexus prime supposedly leaked specs, which are inferior leak out some people are drooling. I find that funny. And not even now not one person can come up with any counter points to my argument on why the specs are better.

Yes software matters a lot. That's why we are interested in this phone. This is Google's own child, not some modified crap from Acer.

I don't buy phones for the camera, so 5MP, 8MP, 12 MP, none of it matters to me.
The 4S still has a 3.5" screen. That's what killed it for me.

I will let you do that. You can do a search can't you. The CPU is weaker than the Galaxy S2. I posted specs and benchmarks about five times yesterday the A5 literally destroying the Galaxy. Put two and two together.

Can it be that the weak upgrade that everyone was talking about has better specs than the new Google 'super phone'. Really, can't be.
Apple gave us everything the iphone 5 would have, other than a larger screen, saved battery life by bypassing LTE which I agree with.
Would people singing a different tune if apple released a redesigned iphone 5 with a different outer shell, larger screen but the same internals. Why would that change the specs other than a larger screen. You mean to tell me the nexus prime was supposed to have better specs than a iphone 5. Really.
The iphone 4S has the same internals the iphone 5 would have had other than a larger screen. Same specs. Smaller screen. And everyone is disappointed. But spec wise they should not be. Bigger screen, yes, I wanted one too. But the specs are the same internally.
With that being the case, why should the nexus prime be better? How is it better spec wise? Simple question waiting for a simple answer, opinions, anything.

Not everyone cares about a bigger screen. I don't want to carry around a 4.5 inch screen on my waist. People seem to think everyone uses their phones for pure media. They do not. I do not stream video to my iPhone, I have a laptop for that. I do use the camera and the 4S has a better camera.
I'm smart and experienced enough to know that usability is more important than specs. A phone that lasts 24 hours is more useful than a phone that lasts 7 hours. A phone that has a smooth operating system is more useful than a phone that has bugs.
Specs don't make devices successful, the PlayBook (and many other devices) are proof of that.
