I'd get the Nexus since it comes with ICS first. The phones that come with newer versions of Android are usually updated first once a new version comes out. If you want more MP, then get the GSII.
Not to sound dumb. What exactly is ICS? Cant figure out what it means. Keep seeing how good it is but im not sure exactly what it is.

They really put a lot of work into revamping Android. Biggest update to the OS ever.
Now if we can get some info on carrier availability...

ICS = Ice Cream Sandwich

ICS = Ice Cream Sandwich :D

Ice Cream as in I after Honeycomb for H. Sandwich as it will be same version used in both phones and tabs.

So is the on screen buttons available exclusively to the Nexus or is it built in to ICS? Because it would be pretty stupid having on screen buttons and actual 4 physical buttons on an android device itself...

OMG!!!! It has a barometer. Goodbye iPhone, I'm getting a Prime so I can run around checking the weather non-stop.

It's exclusive to Nexus and future phones who won't have buttons, I believe.

MP isn't everything, but it is something.

Almost every phones are coming out in mid-late 2011 have 8 megapixel. It's below industry standard. Again, I like ICS, but I don't like this phone. Processor is almost extremely outdated. This processor was used on Galaxy S2 since March/April.

(Galaxy) Nexus uses TI 4460. GS2 uses Exynos 4210.

You should keep in mind that Nexus series is not about hardware specs. For that you need to wait for GS3. They put all the latest and greatest of hardware internals in Galaxy-series. Nexus is more about the new features in OS. Pure google firmware.

TI 4460 is decent SoC. Not the fastest, but decent. GPU is SGX540 at 384MHz.

The screen is a totally different beast though. Nothing would compare against a Super AMOLED at that resolution - same as in Galaxy Note.

This was Android's last chance to get me back on their bandwagon and once again, it disappoints.
I'm completely underwhelmed by both the phone (sans the screen) and by Android 4.0 (ICS).

"That having been said, it unfortunately remains the case that Android isn’t as swift and responsive as iOS or Windows Phone (or even MeeGo Harmattan on the N9). Or at least it wasn’t on the demo phone we got a look at. The subtle, pervasive lag that has characterized the Android UI since it inception is still there, which is not a heartening thing to hear when you’re talking about a super-powered dual-core device like the Galaxy Nexus."- This Is My Next.

Guess they didn't bring the hardware acceleration after all, its a shame really, that screen looks gorgeous.
This is unacceptable and very off-putting.

I'm glad they made my decision that easy. iPhone 4S it is.

EDIT: Apologies for saying it doesn't have hardware acceleration. Scratch that. I assumed they would bring it up on the presentation.

iOS 5 looks like something made for a child after this. Beginning of the end for iOS--just like what happened to Apple vs Windows back in the 90's.

I thought face unlock was the only truly innovative feature....and it failed. Also seemed like it might take longer than the pattern/combo unlock, which would defeat the whole purpose.

Camera seemed nice, but I doubt it'll be better than the iP4S. It looked fast, though.

Android Beam is meh.

Widgets are nice, but still make the home screens look cluttered to my eye.

Folders are exactly from iOS (but Apple took the notification center so I guess they're even).

Keyboard/dictation look better, but only time will tell.

Mixing voicemails in with recent calls doesn't make any sense to me. I much prefer iOS.

Browser syncs bookmarks just like iOS.

Photos now by places and people, just like iOS

Not sure if there's an SD slot, or if your stuck with 16gb. In any event, its hard to beat Apple's audio/video playback and the option for 64gb.

At the end of the day, I didn't see anything really new here. They did a great job addressing the cold look and feel of Android; its definitely more compelling. However, Apple knocked it out of the park with Siri, camera performance, iCloud sync, and the raw speed of Safari on the iPhone 4S. ICS does make Android more appealing, but its still far enticing me to switch. Can't wait to see how the browsermark scores stack up.

Lol. This WON'T be happening! You are on something if you think this will bring down Apple! Little man, NOBODY is touching, Apple.

Same thing can be said about iPhone. Apps look nice, but make the home screens look cluttered.

You can add only one widget or two if you like for one screen. That way, it won't look "cluttered"
