Ove-all the best four playoff series I have seen.

Absolutely. This was by far the most entertainment and nail biting games that I have seen in a very long time. Very long time.

I agree regarding the Rams and Stafford. Imagine if that guy played for a team that could be a contender versus being in Detroit for what could be said is the prime of his career.

Ok...

Rams and KC in the Superbowl. But at this point, with no real dog in the race, I am hoping for good quality games that come down to the wire.

Also, can we do away with this overtime crap. Let the other team have a chance for crying out loud. I have said it from the beginning. I don't like it.

I am honestly devastated. Finally we truly had a powerhouse of a defense just to be squandered by crappy QB play and even worse OC play calling.

I also didn't think the Bengals were all that, just our offense was worse. All the Bengals fans are going off about Burrow is making me nuts. Did he have a lot of yardage, yep. All QBs do against the Titans... it's the bend don't break defense. But than again, majority of those were from 1-2 yard throws and then Chase doing his thing for 40 yards.

Just ugh....
Yeah, I think you nailed it. The play calling towards the end really was awkward and didn’t seem it put the Titans in a position to win. The Bengals are ‘good’, but they didn’t play stellar ball. The Titans just weren’t on their game.

And ESPN is obsessed with Burrow. Seriously, if Stephen A. Smith mentions his name one more time, I’m purposefully going to avoid that network. It’s almost like it’s paid advertising or something.

My gut feeling is either the Broncos or the 49'ers. Jimmy G almost has to win the SB this year for the 9'ers to even consider bringing him back, and even then does he give them the best chance to repeat? They drafted Lance, but him and Jordan Love looked like absolute ass when they played. Rodgers is a California kid, so the opportunity to play for the home team, finish his career, and possibly win a SB there might appeal enough to him to not ask for more than $25mil a year, which is less than they're paying Jimmy G right now and exactly what Tom Brady is making in Tampa.
All are possibilities.

I think now is the time for Rodgers to move on.

The whole Roger situation makes me think of like LeBron James. LeBron left Cleveland to play for Miami, he then returned back to Cleveland, and won them a ring. After that, he moved on to the Lakers. LeBron said that he had nothing else to prove anymore in Cleveland and did exactly what he set out to do, which was get them a ring.

Rodgers has done all of that and more, so I think now is the time for him to move on with his career somewhere else or just retire. But give Jordan Love the chance to start growing into the future quarterback that Green Bay has invested in him to be.

Idk if Aaron would want to go Las Vegas. Especially with unknowns on who their next GM and HC will be. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if Carr is out of LV when the new regime is hired. So I wouldn't be surprised if the new Raiders front office go for someone they'll like.
Personally, I don’t think the Raiders can afford him. Although, I suspect it’s depending on what Rodgers is willing to accept. I suspect he has less than three years left in the NFL if he decides to return to play.

I think by April, we’ll know exactly what he decides to do.

Is the Raiders a team that Aaron Rodgers believes that he could win a Super Bowl with? So the Packers aside, it seems to me, he probably would pick a team knowingly that he could have the best opportunity with. And could the Raiders afford him, depending on their cap limit.
Ok, ya got me.

NO, Maybe not, and probably not, we had a good run and made it to the playoffs... maybe he sees us as a team on the rise?

Honestly if we don't draft all the top O Line this year we're screwed.

Just guessing here, I take it that you’re a huge Raiders fan? And I’m asking genuinely, because you’ve mentioned them multiple times. I agree, they need some rebuilding, and they clearly have the potential, but that only will happen with some coaching changes and player roster movement.

Life long RAIDER fan.

And agreed.

Nathaniel Hackett (Packers Offensive Coordinator) signed with the Denver Broncos as the new head coach. What’s interesting about this, is that Nathaniel apparently has a really close relationship with Aaron Rodgers, and speculation is, that Rodgers if he were to sign with another team, it would likely be the Broncos under Hackett, and the Broncos would probably pose a good opportunity for him to finish his career if he so chooses.

But the more I thought about it, I think Rogers remains in Green Bay, especially now that Green Bay has committed to not ‘rebuilding’ a roster, and trying to retain who they have.

In other news, Big Ben Roethlisberger officially retired after 18 years from the Steelers. What an outstanding career he had.

Rodgers will end up with the team that he thinks can 1) win immediately, in what time he has left and 2) shows him the respect he believes he should be afforded. To put it kindly.

Those who aren't so inclined to put it that way might say -- not necessarily in that order, and the chip he's had on his shoulder since that looong draft day is still a big part of what drives him.

Is Denver that team? I dunno. Their offense has supposedly been inept for a long time, and a HC/OC isn't necessarily going to fix that, if he doesn't have the players, like a Rodgers or Davante Adams. I guess
all three could migrate there, and try to replicate the Brady/Gronk thing in Tampa if their cap space allows.

However unlikely, the bonkers scenario would be for Rodgers to end up playing at home in San Francisco for a couple years, giving that rookie they drafted more time to develop, and learn from one of the best. Even if Garappolo were to lead the 49ers to a championship, he's probably gone.

The Bucs might end up looking for a QB as well…

Mike McCarthy should probably add Sean Payton to his Xmas card list if he didn't already, but if/when Jerry Jones can convince Payton to coach again, and work out a deal with the Saints, is that a hard call?

The Chiefs had 13 seconds, starting from their own 25, and did what they needed to do to tie the game.

The Cowboys had 14 seconds, on the 49ers side of the field, and called a draw play with no time outs remaining.

Granted not an apple-to-apples comparison, but not quite apples-to-oranges either, and does illustrate the some big differences. Holy moly that what a show those two teams put on.

Jones, to his credit, acknowledged that the Cowboys lost the game well before that last drive, but that could be interpreted as an even bigger indictment.

Mike McCarthy knows how to win in the NFL. He knows how to win playoff games. He knows how to win a Super Bowl. He is a highly successful football coach.

Wait! Change "knows" to "knew" and change "is" to "was". There, that's about right.

Another legendary quarterback allegedly is retiring at 44 years old with Tom Brady. That dude was winning Super Bowls when I was in high school, and yet still plays with the athleticism of a 28-year-old. Truly a genetic God and a staple in the NFL.

I’m not sure if it’s finalized, but there’s reports that he’s unsure and other reports are saying that he is indeed retiring. But either way, I’d say at 44, he has nothing else to prove.

The Tom Brady retirement is turning into a mess. I think what happened is that he told his inner circle, that it was time, but he wasn't going to announce it until after championship weekend - he did not want to take the spotlight off of today's games. Yet someone rushed off to tell Schefter and the story caught on like wild fire. Even his agent trying pour water on the story, and Brady calling the Bucs to say that he hasn't made up his mind yet did little to change the narrative.

I think he will retire, because, he's older things are slowing down. Its clear that the Bucs need to rebuild to some extent and its unlikely they'll be able to field a team that will be able to make a deep push into the playoffs and finally family time. His wife and kids have had to sacrifice time away from him and every there may realize that its time

I agree, I think he will retire as well. I also think that he should. It makes me wonder, is he to a point where is he playing to win another Super Bowl or just for the sake of ‘playing to play’ at his age? It sounds like some of the players/coaching staff was wishing him a happy retirement before the announcement was made, which started this whole controversy.

I think it might’ve been you that said a while ago in one of the previous NFL threads, which was, is it really worth him coming back for another year at his age, only to possibly get injured? He’s healthy now, and has nothing to prove, I would walk off the field with his head high.

I’m not going to make a call on Brady retiring. He has earned the right to retire on his own terms, when he wants to. Hes proved he can still play at the highest level, this year he was stellar.

That said, I would not be surprised if he hangs up his boots. The possibility of injury, the bucs having to rebuild a bit, his age, his family. It all points a bit in that direction.

It's all over the internet that he is retiring.

@Relentless Power hinted that some other 44 year old QB was retiring... was it a coy little joke?

Don't be shocked if you see Rodgers in TB.

This is how I think it went down. Brady, "I'm announcing my retirement." Giselle, "Tom now that you are retired can you take out the garbage and meet with my mother about taking a family trip." Brady, "I never said anything about retiring."

I will simply because I believe Tom is retiring because he realizes that the bucs need to reload and/or rebuild and Rodgers already said that's not really interested in playing for a team that is in the rebuilding phase.

Tampa Bay has 11 million dollars in cap space, not horrible, but not great, but also have a number of holes to fill thanks to free agency. Also look at the dead money that they'll have with Brady if he does retire, that won't give them the flexibility to fill those holes, and sign Rodgers to a mega contract.

How many years does Rodgers have left. I can't see anyone signing him to a long term mega deal.

Before the games start...

Gonna go out on a limb with 49ers over Rams and Bengals over Chiefs for the simple reason that I like the 49ers more than the Rams and don't like the Chiefs at all... it's not that I actually believe it, but hey, hope dies last.

Prior to the start of the season they restructured his contact and voided 2023, plus they seem to have a "gentleman's" agreement to let him go (trade or cutting him) if he wants. Supposedly this was in place for 2021 and we know how that turned out last off season

Getting ready to watch the first playoff game today. I don’t know how they top last weekend games, but I hope the games interesting and not one-sided.

That’s true, Rodgers said post game loss that he is not ‘Interested in playing under a rebuilt team’, and Matt Lafluer, (Packers Coach), already commented a few days later that ‘there will be no rebuit team’ in a follow up interview, meaning that have intentions of resigning any major free agents assumingely.

Rogers is really unpredictable, and I still think retirement is a possibility. I personally would like to see him leave Green Bay and play for another team, but this certainly isn’t about money anymore. It’s more about what type of mood he’s in.
