Let's where his numbers are w/o the roids. Not to mention he won DROTY:
The Houston Texans' defense took a major blow Friday when defensive rookie of the year Brian Cushing learned he is being suspended four games for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances.

Cushing appealed the league's decision at a hearing at the NFL scouting combine in February but was informed Friday his appeal had been rejected, according to sources.

Cushing will be allowed to participate in training camp with the Texans this summer, but then will serve his four-game suspension to start the 2010 regular season.

"We were disappointed to learn that Brian has been suspended for the first four games of the 2010 season," Houston general manager Rick Smith said in a statement. "Brian is a productive member of our team and this is a significant loss, but we have to be prepared to win without him."

I guess I'm a little late on this, but I just had some time to go back and look at the Draft again. This is the only thing I got out of it besides Pete Carroll humorously passing over Taylor Mays:

NEW YORK -- A person familiar with Brian Cushing's case said Tuesday that the Houston Texans linebacker tested positive for HCG, a fertility drug that's on the NFL's banned substance list.

My first thought was WTF? (actually it was Viagra;)), until I read up on what it was. The only purpose he could have for its use was weight control.
There was a funny article listing how the Texans is on the cusp of being an elite team because one of it's star players would be caught up in controversy. (Andre Johnson and Super Mario were too nice. Schaub was too boring. Cushing was the candidate for a sex scandal.)

Other uses besides weight control ;)
Human Chorionic Gonadotropin was Used by Manny Ramirez, Leading to a 50-Game Suspension from MLB
Manny Ramirez has been suspended for 50-games by Major League Baseball for using a drug on the banned substance list, but at question is what drug he was using. Ramirez claims that he was using
Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) which was prescribed by a doctor recently. The commissioner's office hasn't announced what drug it was that caused the suspension of Manny Ramirez, but two other sources confirmed to ESPN that it was indeed HCG that Ramirez was using. But what is HCG, and why was Ramirez using it?
ESPN reported that "HCG is a women's fertility drug typically used by steroid users to restart their body's natural testosterone production as they come off a steroid cycle." According to sources that Wikipedia has, HCG is used for a couple of reasons, one thought to be weight loss in a controversial method, and one being to enhance anabolic steroid use. Anabolic steroids are of course on the MLB list of banned substances, and coupled with the use of HCG has been reported to be a common practice. Steroid users use HCG both during and after a steroid cycle in order to increase testosterone production and restore testicular size.

Steroids use shrink your balls? Man, I don't care how much it boosts my performance, I wouldn't want to use anything that'll shrink my nuts.:p The proportions on ancient Greek statues finally make sense to me.

"It was fun, even this offseason when we started our workouts, it was just nice to be back around the guys again," Urlacher said after the Chicago Bears wrapped up a three-day minicamp at Halas Hall. "Joking around, lifting, working out, I missed it. I don't know if they missed me last year, but it's fun to be back especially on the football field."..........

Super Bowl XLVIII in 2014 goes to NY

The New Meadowlands Stadium, the $1.6 billion jewel co-owned by the New York Giants and Jets, will host the 2014 Super Bowl, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell announced Tuesday afternoon at the league's spring meeting.

The league's 32 owners, undaunted by the prospect of a wintry championship game, awarded Super Bowl XLVIII to the New York/New Jersey region after also considering bids from Tampa and South Florida, both traditional sites. South Florida and Tampa have hosted the Super Bowl 10 and four times, respectively.

It took four rounds of secret balloting to determine the host. New York/New Jersey won by a simple majority over Tampa. South Florida was eliminated after the second ballot.

The official tag line of the New York/New Jersey bid was "Make Some History," and it did. It will be the first open-air stadium in a cold-weather region to host a Super Bowl. In their presentation to the membership, the Jets and Giants reps showed a video that included clips from historic cold-weather games, including Adam Vinatieri's forever field goal for the Patriots in the 2001 divisional playoffs in Foxborough, Mass. -- a.k.a. "The Snow Bowl" and "The Tuck Rule Game."

"An old-school matchup in a new-school stadium," the voiceover says.

There could be a record-low temperature at kickoff. The current record is 39 degrees in 1972 at Tulane Stadium in New Orleans, and that would be considered a warm February day in East Rutherford, N.J.

There's never been snow in a Super Bowl game and that could happen, too.

Yes? But clearly they've taken the necessary steps to limit the impact of weather on the Super Bowl up until now (well, 2014 anyway).
So why not demand the conference championship games be played in nice weather.

Has any cold weather team pushed for a SB before? Do other cold weather teams have what NY has to offer the NFL for their 7 day party?

seattle and denver (and the sf bay area, if they get their new stadium) could reasonably host a game. chicago, washington and philly are also viable options to try once, although if it's a dud like jacksonville was, they won't do it again. also, if they let this rule slide, i guess that means LA will get super bowl 50 despite not having a nfl team for over 15 years.

the reason this happened is because the nfl has shunned san diego and miami for having "old" stadiums, and only want to go to jerry-land esque stadiums from now on.

i personally think that the whole idea is stupid, since new yorkers come down to florida (especially the ones with lots of cash to burn) for the winter. they don't want to freeze their butts off at the game. if there's a huge blizzard the day of the game, expect the stadium half empty, if the game isn't postponed due to snow. all star games in new york sounds fun in july when it's warm and things to do outside. this sounds like fans of warm weather places forced to go through cabin fever for a week. not fun.

Geez, it's New York, not friggin' Canada. It's not that cold there.

No, because the league disallowed bids from cities without domed stadiums and an average temperature below 50 F in February. That rule was repealed in December.
I believe Miami had a downpour the whole game a few years ago. Domed super bowls suck because the weather advantage is taken out of it. The game gets to sterile. Supposedly this game in NY is going to be a one time deal to celebrate NY. If it goes well expect them to do more cold weather cities that can handle it. I would expect Chicago to be the next cold weather city up for bid in 10 years. Football is a cold weather sport so the championship should be played in the elements.

"Weather advantage" ?

Yeah, New York doesn't get celebrated enough

If it wasn't for Wellington Mara the NFL today would not exist. So yes I think celebrating NY is a good thing.

Warm weather teams do better in domes over cold weather teams. Just like domed teams can't play in the cold weather because they are not built for it. There is definitely a weather advantage.

It boggles my mind that the Redskins is the second most valuable NFL franchise next to the Cowboys. Can anyone explain how so? I am a 'Skins fan and I know how passionate us 'Skins fans are, and the franchise does own it's own stadium. Nevertheless, I would think there could be at least one or two NFL franchises more valuable than the Redskins.

What a wonderful headline to wake up to. :D

Jets And Revis Finally Agree

The New York Jets reached an agreement in principle with CB Darrelle Revis, ending his 36-day holdout. According to various sources, Revis will sign a 4-year contract worth $46M, which includes $32M in guaranteed money.

Head coach Rex Ryan and team owner Woody Johnson flew to South Florida over the weekend and met with Revis. This move apparently played its role in breaking the stalemate between the Gang Green and the All-Pro cornerback. The meeting, first reported by the New York Daily News, took place on Saturday. It's not clear if Revis' New York-based agents were present.
