It boggles my mind that the Redskins is the second most valuable NFL franchise next to the Cowboys. Can anyone explain how so? I am a 'Skins fan and I know how passionate us 'Skins fans are, and the franchise does own it's own stadium. Nevertheless, I would think there could be at least one or two NFL franchises more valuable than the Redskins.

Me to. Who would of thought a second rate team would be this high in the most valuable column! :D:D:D:D

A very interesting week one with lots of stories to follow and injuries that could have a big impact.

Kolb vs. Vick?
Should the Chargers have ponied up the cash for VJax?
Is A. Foster the second coming of Chris Johnson?
The Jets D proved they are for real, but can the offense score points?
Can M. Stafford play a season without a shoulder injury?
The Steelers win without Big Ben?
What happened to the 49ers?
Are we going to have to listen to Randy Moss cry all season long or will he shut up and play?
Brees and Rodgers off to shaky starts?
Is Dallas all hype?

I can address this one. Dallas = ALL HYPE. Be thankful you don't live here as they are all ready calling for the heads of Romo, Wade Phillips, and Jason Garrett on sports talk radio. Cowgirl fans are the most fickle bunch of them all.

But, I do live here... :D

And yes, you have to avoid sports radio the week after a Cowboys loss because it's unbearable. Galloway on 103.3 ESPN in the afternoon's doesn't call it "over-reaction Monday" for nothing.

^^Dude I completely forgot! :p
I tuned to the Ticket after the game Sunday night and listened to Norm go wild with Donovan. Callers were ridiculous...hehe.

i don't think the cowgirls are playoff material, much less super bowl material. it's just hype. no idea why everyone is picking them to win the super bowl. and same with the jets to a point.

We will if Schottenheimer opens up the damn offense and takes off the training wheels. Let Sanchez throw the damn ball, we can deal with the interceptions.

We lost Kris Jenkins for the year, again. THey won without him last year but it hurts none the less.

the jets aren't even the best team in their division, yet everyone picks them to win the super bowl. hell, they haven't even made an appearance in the super bowl since 1969...

maybe people shouldn't forget about that other team that has 4 sb appearances, 3 rings, and 7 of the past 9 AFC east titles...

Since losing to the wild card NFC team in the 2007 Super Bowl, the Patriots have had one playoff appearance in which they got trounced. It's pointless to live in the past (although Patriots fans seem to make a habit of this) because New England is borderline irrelevant at this point. Tom Brady & Bill Belichick will never win another playoff game together.

heh, theres only been two seasons since then, and they made the playoffs in one of them. in the other season, they went 11-5 with a backup that hadn't started a game since high school and lost out on the playoffs because of the tiebreaker.

if you seriously think that the patriots are "irrelevant" at this point and that brady and belichick are never going to win another playoff game, you're probably on crack. belichick's finally transitioned his defense from the old guys of the early 2000s dynasty to a new, young, and fast defense. they added two great rookie tight ends who are giving that offense a dimension that they haven't had since daniel graham and christian fauria. and on top of that, Tom Brady's now two full years removed from his acl/mcl replacement (average full recovery for this injury is about 18 months) and is finally back to 100%.

if they can stay healthy, the pats look poised to make a good run in this years playoffs. they did a pretty good job dominating the bengals last week, and are going to do the same to the jets (who are on short rest) this week. i dont know about everyone else, but ill take the two hall of famers over some fat ass coach and a pretty boy QB who threw nearly twice as many picks as touchdowns last year.

The report is that Ryan Grant is out for the season. We'll see how this affects the Packers highly touted offense. He was one of the few backs in the NFL called on to carry the load primarily on his own. Can his back up effectively carry a similar workload?

Spoken like a true Dallas hater. You either like them or hate em. I think we know where you stand lol.

Vick is a Franchise no.1 QB again...

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5601286

What are your thoughts on this? As far as I'm concerned, he's done his time, paid his dues and from his recent performances (and appearances last season), earned his way to being no.1 QB on Philadelphia's roster.

The other side to this is whether Mike Reid was threatened with his job. After being so insistent upon Kolb staying the starter and it being 'easy to bench Vick again', I feel he may be doing something against his instinct.

All being said, it's quite a story for Vick.

I think Andy Reid made it pretty clear that his choice was to keep Kiolb as the starter. The sudden change leads one to think that someone above Reid is forcing this decision. It will be interesting to see how it all works out. Kolb might not quite be ready yet and we all know Vick is eager to make a comeback.

The Cowboys reminds me of the Houston Oilers of 90's; loaded with talent, but somehow find creative ways to lose.

And Jerry Jones the second coming of Al Davis, but without the football acumen. If, big IF, JJ back off and allow the football people to run the 'Boyz, they could be contenders again. But it looks like Jerry's Kids going to be 0-3 after the Texas Shootout this week.

I have no idea why people think the Jets could be contenders. They have a below average QB and they traded their best RB away. Their D is still great though.

heh, theres only been two seasons since then, and they made the playoffs in one of them.

...and got trounced 33-14 at home by a team led by a rookie quarterback. Embarrassing.

in the other season, they went 11-5 with a backup that hadn't started a game since high school and lost out on the playoffs because of the tiebreaker.

Crying about a rules technicality? You can't have it both ways. If they had played better during the regular season it wouldn't have come down to a tiebreaker.

belichick's finally transitioned his defense from the old guys of the early 2000s dynasty to a new, young, and fast defense.

Didn't help against the Jets. Or on the road last season. The Patriots are a mess. And the only reason they're so yuong on defense this year is because of injuries (Ty Warren, Leigh Bodden, Brandon McGowan).

they added two great rookie tight ends who are giving that offense a dimension that they haven't had since daniel graham and christian fauria.

The Patriots haven't produced a Pro Bowl tight end in... ever?

and on top of that, Tom Brady's now two full years removed from his acl/mcl replacement (average full recovery for this injury is about 18 months) and is finally back to 100%.

If the performance against the Jets is any indication, I don't know why that would be a good thing. If only every Patriots game was in Foxboro!

they did a pretty good job dominating the bengals last week, and are going to do the same to the jets (who are on short rest) this week.

Oops.

i dont know about everyone else, but ill take the two hall of famers over some fat ass coach and a pretty boy QB who threw nearly twice as many picks as touchdowns last year.

And yet the Jets advanced to the AFC Championship last. The Patriots didn't even get past the first round. The Patriots used to be in the conversation for the best team in the league. Now they aren't even the best team in the AFC East.
