awwwww I see what you did there.... ;)

17-14 Pack

That's what I think, too.

Both defenses will show up to the game and there will be sacks and turnovers. I think both QBs will have modest numbers at best and the stars will be on defense.

I think Rodgers, even though he had a lot of yards on the season, will be held to a touchdown, and for some reason I think the Packs D will pick a pass or force a fumble and get great field position at a time when it will be too late for the Steelers. I wouldn't be surprised if the Packs D got a fumble and took it all the way in.

I thought the Steelers had a tremendous defense but in the Jets game, they slowed down during the game even though they really came on strong in the beginning.

I don't know if the Pack can sack Big Ben hard enough to hurt him, but they will throw his rhythm off like the Jets did in the latter half on the AFC final game. The Steelers best chance for this game is to get way ahead early.

It could be this will be a huge breakout for Rodgers and he will throw for 300 yards and 3 touchdowns but I just don't see it happening that way. It will be a ring for him anyway, but not a huge passing game ala Steve Young in the Super Bowl against the Chargers.

the pack D needs to get to Ben and throw off his rhythm, they also really need to slow down the rushing game. If the receivers can catch Rodgers passes and he doesn't get too too much pressure he COULD throw for some scores, but I also think it will be a defensive battle.

Interestingly, last time they met last year in Pitt was a shootout that came down to the last few seconds of the game. I think it will be an epic battle between two of the league's epic franchises...

yeah packers defense vs. Ben is going to be crucial point of the game ... especially if he will be able to pull off some of his trademark late evasive moves

It was his early moves that won most recently! Jets held him back in second half.

gotta beat GB the whole game imho

I really hope this trend continues with people picking GB to win. Also , i love how people are already crowning Rogers.

The Steelers always play their best when they are underdogs. And as good as Rogers is, the Steelers are not the Bears, Falcons or Eagles. He will have to be really solid and avoid getting creamed

^^^
I too, think the Rodgers coronation is early
He has played well for the most part, but he was average against the Bears

While people look at the Falcons game and sing his praises, the truth is, the Packers wins against the Eagles and the Bears were both in doubt on the last series of the game.

The Packers defense has been solid and steady while the offense has been inconsistent. Stellar at times (Falcons), and average to subpar at others (Bears, second half especially).

I think the Steelers beat the Packers into submission.

I would say most people are picking the steelers. It's just the pundits that are going with GB because it's fashionable to hate on gropelisberger.

Boo. I think you'll be surprised here dawg. It will be closer than you think ;)

I am with you on that one. Do you think he may be just a slight bit pissed off at them for beating the Falcons? ;)

GB by a field goal and maybe a touchdown + extra point. It won't be a Rodgers victory only as the whole team will have to make big plays, especially GB's defense.

I think it will be a defensive battle and reading the pundits professional explanations, I can see that this game (if played the way GB has most of their games) is theirs to lose. What will keep GB from winning this in a total blowout is the Steelers strong defense. But they still call it, as I do, a close victory for Green Bay.

Your score of 17-14 GB sounds right on the money, einmusiker.

Hardly
I picked them over the Bears
And I was the one saying how good they were and that I thought they would beat the Falcons

Just my feeling on the game and the way it matches up

I have to give it to you for your self control. If my 49ers were in the playoffs as the top seed and Green Bay bumped them off, I would be livid. :)

Actually, Green Bay ended our 49er postseason more than once either in late regular season play hurting our record/players or directly getting us in the postseason one and out situation.

While we didn't get the SB in the "Drive II"/"Catch II" year with Steve Young's epic shootout with Favre during one postseason, we ended GB's run with that Young to Owens hookup in the 4th, 30-27. Even Favre, with his ego, calls that the greatest game he has ever played.

Looks like the Titans and Fisher are breaking up the party after all...

Eagles will apparently franchise Vick

Source: Eagles to tag Michael Vick

The Philadelphia Eagles will make it official next month and place their franchise tag on quarterback Michael Vick, a league source has confirmed.

The move will prevent Vick from leaving Philadelphia this offseason and ensure he's tied to the Eagles for the 2011 season.

Vick was selected to start the Pro Bowl, his fourth trip to Hawaii in eight seasons. He set career highs in yards passing (3,018), touchdowns passing (21), touchdowns rushing (9), completion percentage (62.6) and passer rating (100.2). The Eagles (10-7) were 8-3 in games he started and finished.

What's just as significant about the move is that, by tagging Vick, the Eagles then will entertain offers for backup Kevin Kolb, who is sure to generate more interest this offseason than any other available quarterback once there is a new collective bargaining agreement.

Franchising Vick will give the Eagles contractual control of two quality quarterbacks, one of whom they will be able to shop. Kolb still is under contract for 2011 at the cap-friendly price of $1.4 million, making him an even more desirable commodity.

Multiple teams coveted Kolb last offseason. Kolb started the 2011 season as the Eagles' starting quarterback but was replaced by Vick after suffering a concussion in the season opener.

Kolb said after the season that he wants "to be starting somewhere" in 2011.

Vick made $5.25 million in 2010 but would make an estimated $20 million -- the average salary for the five highest-paid quarterbacks in the league -- if he is designated the Eagles' franchise player.

As a "reorganized debtor," Vick's income will be distributed to his family and his creditors in accordance with a court-approved schedule. As his income increases, he will pay more of it to the creditors.

who says crime doesn't pay?

Please stop this nonsense. He was a professional football player earning millions. He broke the law. He went to jail and paid his debt to society. He's a professional football player again, earning millions.

I find his crime abhorrent but he did his time.

I am going to have to go with the packers on this one! They are the hottest team in the league right now.

They looked good against the Falcons

But they didn't look so hot against the Bears when their 3rd string QB had a chance to tie the game at the end, or against the Eagles when Vick threw an ill advised pass that cost them the game

Steelers
