Nike's second-generation FuelBand SE is now available for purchase from the Online Apple Store and is available from select retail locations beginning today according to Apple's Personal Pickup options.

The FuelBand SE looks similar to the original Nike FuelBand, but adds colored accents in yellow, pink, and red. It also incorporates Bluetooth LE (4.0), which significantly cuts down on power usage when paired with the iPhone 4s or later. Like the original, the FuelBand SE is designed to track movement and activity.

NikeFuel is a single, universal way to measure all kinds of activities--from your morning workout to your big night out. This uniquely designed metric applies to whole-body movement no matter your age, weight, or gender.

FuelBand tracks how much, how often, and how intensely you move. So go ahead and set a daily NikeFuel goal for how active you want to be. You'll receive move reminders for an extra push to get you moving every hour. And monitor the intensity of your workouts with NikeFuel Rate and Nike+ Sessions.
A new clock mode displays the time with the tap of a button, and the band works in conjunction with the Nike+ FuelBand app, which was recently updated with new customization options, Nike+ Sessions, Nike+ Groups, and new trophies to earn.

Improvements to both the FuelBand SE and Nike's NikeFuel points system allow users to track more activities than ever before and the band also incorporates movement reminders when it detects too much idle time.

Nike also debuted its Nike+ Move app yesterday, which is designed to take advantage of the M7 motion coprocessor in the iPhone 5s.

The Nike+ FuelBand SE is available in three sizes and four colors for $149.95 from Apple's website. The FuelBand SE is set to launch officially on Wednesday, November 6.

Compared to other fitness bands this is just too much money for the functionality that you get.

Yep. When you compare it to the Fitbit Force or Polar Loop which are both significantly cheaper & have more functionality this product looks silly. So disappointed with the new fuelband. They added nothing new except the newer version of Bluetooth.

People are mostly buying it cos of the social aspects of Nike+ and probably cos they already accumulated some activity there.

It is also the only band that comes in "XL" sizes that I have seen. Jawbone had promised an XL version of the Up before it flopped last year, and now they don't even mention it. The FitBits aren't "XL". The smaller brands I've come across don't either -- but I don't remember what brands I've looked at.

As Quagmire says, "Fat [people] need love too. But they gotta pay!"

don't see why you want a nike fuel band when you have M7.

Not like you can swim with the new fuel band...

I'm super active, but the reason I still use my FuelBand mainly is for the watch. Their social ecosystem has always lacked. None of my friends own one, so there's nobody to compete with.

I've swam with mine, showered with it, you name it... not one issue here.

you shouldn't swim with it, it's not water resistant. showering seems more ok, but still

So which one do you think is better out of all the 3?

If you're thinking of going to the store tonight and getting it don't. I ordered for in store pick up and they wouldn't let me have due to embargo. I have to come back tomorrow to get it.

Ditto, my store had them available online for in store pickup, so jumped in the car to go get one and they did not have them out. :(

This might change since you can now use Nike+ with an iPhone 5s (M7 processor) without a fuel band.

Major feature of the new FB is "Sessions" which is suppose to more accurately measure exercise on a treadmill or elliptical. I bought a Force the other day and the new Fuelband will be delivered tomorrow. Can't wait to test them side by side. If the FB SE isn't an improvement on machinery it goes back & then I'll decide whether to stick w/ old FB or go w/ Force.

$20 difference b/t Force and FB. $ won't be a factor in which one I keep.

I would be interested to hear your thoughts after spending some time wearing both of these.

My entire organization got one and I have to tell you, it's a joke. The Fuel Points are meaningless, the steps are completely inaccurate which goes for the calories, as well. Really, it's a $150 watch. Complete fail.

Other than a few M7 co-processor mentions, no fanatical "I'm waiting for the iWatch" posts yet. Where is the 'if it ain't Apple, it can't be any good' crowd?

They're in the heads of people who think Apple fans are mindless drones, for use as straw men apparently.

I'd love to hear how the "sessions" works vs the Fitbit Force. I only workout in a gym, but that consists of an hr of cardio on an elliptical and weight lifting. I tried an older fitbit and it was HORRIBLE at tracking me on a treadmill. It said I ran 12-14 miles when I only ran 4-5. I really want Bodymedia to come out with their Core 2 tracker they demoed at CES this past January, but after Jawbone snapped them up, I lost hope in seeing the new product in 2013. That really looks like it'll destroy all of these trackers and finally be slim/comfortable enough to wear all day, even at the office.

Add me man :) I'm getting one of those as soon as I can (I'm in europe). I consider myself super active as well but some days I just sit on my ass for 14 hours straight so I hope to get some kind of nudge to move more regularly.

I go to the gym and do monster heavy lifting without break for 2 hours 6 days a week then sit in front of a computer typing rest of the day. Nothing or everything.

I absolutely love my Nike FuelBand. No pressing need for the SE yet, though.

Are they like-for-like replacing the old model with the new one?

Waiting for the new firmware for the original Fuelband to be released. It's supposed to be out today and adds some of the new bands features like tap twice to display the clock, new algorithms and activate sessions (using the app though).

Hopefully the firmware will also fix the fact that the app update broke the sync function - it will not recognize that the band is connected to the phone. Lots of unhappy first gen fuelband owners.
