You are so right!!! This makes perfect sense considering they just launched their fitness app a day ago. Do you think the new Apple TV will launch this March 2021?This will be fitness+ related. Mark my words.
U1 chip - spatial awareness is the clue. This could mean measuring pace and form alongside current metrics.
Fitness+ was designed primarily for home workouts, it makes sense for Apple to introduce further sensors on the Apple TV for these workouts.
Blimy how olds that mock up?
“Hey Siri” should have been the clue that no button pushing is required. Is your Apple TV your only Apple product? That's not one step. That requires pushing the Siri button.
I don't get people's aversion to buttons, especially something many people are asking for. I am not asking for numeric keys. If you look at Apple's Use your Siri Remote or Apple TV Remote with your Apple TV support article, many key actions require hidden gesture. Why?
My family has 4 Macs, 1 Apple TV, 2 HomePods, 2 iPads, 2 iPhones, and 2 Apple Watches. We naturally use Siri for HomePods, as well as occasional iPhone commands. But none of us like talking to the Siri Remote, except for search.“Hey Siri” should have been the clue that no button pushing is required. Is your Apple TV your only Apple product?
With all those devices listening, “Hey Siri, turn off Apple TV“ will probably work just as well without pushing a button as it does for me.My family has 4 Macs, 1 Apple TV, 2 HomePods, 2 iPads, 2 iPhones, and 2 Apple Watches. It has to change. It’s crazy that, given the awesome advancements in mobile processing, I can’t play even 360 or PS3 caliber games (not stupid puzzle things) on the go. That’s the dream: I have my beefy Apple TV at home and I can pick up and play on the go.I think it would be a massive business blunder if they don't go after becoming the 3rd big gaming console. I think the console wars are about to change.
We sometimes use HomePod to turn off Apple TV. But if we say "Hey Siri, turn off the TV", it ends up only turning off the TV (HomeKit supported). This sometimes cause Apple TV to turn on the TV at random time. With all those devices listening, “Hey Siri, turn off Apple TV“ will probably work just as well without pushing a button as it does for me.
The Salt remote was just rebranded and sells in the US now. I have been using it for a year or so now. It works great, though is line of sightIt actively ruins an evening on the couch... and like the butterfly keyboard Apple seems stubbornly arrogant to change what's clearly broken (or they're measuring just how blindly loyal their users in accepting crap and thinking it's gold).
My non-tech wife is always asking "Doesn't someone sell a remote for this that actually works?"... I tell her "I find your lack of Apple faith disturbing."

The remote has a way to sleep the device. Hold the home button for 3 seconds then select sleep. We sometimes use HomePod to turn off Apple TV. Either way, we would prefer a simple sleep button the remote. Talking to turn things off can be tiresome, especially since it doesn't always work.
