In all honesty people are still shocked Apple still use LCD displays in 2017 however it appears Apple is getting the best out of this older technology as it's "customised" to their requirements.
Um, who else uses OLED besides Samsung? LCD is still king as far as percentage of all phones go by a huge margin.

"although a very slim top bezel could remain to house the front-facing camera and earpiece cutout"

Nooo, the whole front should be a display and we want true wireless charging, not pad charging.

This looks more like a Samsung copy than something new and revolutionary.

If you absolutely must put a "slim top bezel" for the cam, because the Apple engineers are incapable of solving the problem, consider putting a cam at the bottom as well, so it is symmetrical and you don't need turn the phone around if you pick it up the wrong way.
Forget the camera altogether. Go back to sending dick pics how we used to. In the mirror. I'd like to have more screen real-estate than a stupid front facing camera.

If they call it the iPhone Pro I'm gonna puke. A Pro phone? Gimme a break. I love Apple, but that'd be prentious as hell.

Even the PS4 dons the "Pro" moniker... But hey, whatever makes you *feel* important.

LOL, seriously tho marketing has gone out of control.

Perhaps you care to admit your miscalculations.

I'll let you re-read my old posts to help you understand the math much better...and maybe comprehend the writing more easily.

And, please: quoting manufacturer's claims on their ratios? They lie. Repeatedly. Don't be so trusting; see the Xiaomi Mi Mix links. Come on; we're smarter than this, aren't we?

Good luck with the rest of your claims. I'll be giggling at your first post for weeks to come: how could you be so sure of something so easily disproven? Is this what we've come to?

I'm confused, what mis-calculations? Or do you mean LG are lying on their website thus breaching advertising laws? That's what you're implying right? I would certainly trust a manufactures figure over some calculation you've done in your head.
So again I ask, what mis-calculation.

Lol, most phone manufacturers use Amoled for years now... would you say those are inferior to Apple's offerings?
[doublepost=1488707910][/doublepost]Apple should already be all Oled by now: iMac, MacBook (pro). Everything! At premium prices you expect the latest and greatest.

The problem is its hard to get anyone to mass produce so many displays.. they are already having problems with getting enough iPhone 8 amoled panels. If they went 100% to oled, then people would complain about months of waiting time - and they wouldn't get anything sold.

seriously, can't believe how Apple take their advantage in the market to keep doing this things, all models should have the same specs, can't believe the dual camera still for the f***g huge iPhone Plus and now this OLED super screen thing.

Some people loves to keep an 4" iPhone but many are forced to carry the Plus just for the specs.

That's the real power of iOS and mac OS in sales

Now you've confused me even more with linking privacy and personal safety to a phones durability? I'll just ignore you as I have no idea what your going on about?
[doublepost=1488765680][/doublepost]

It'll be interesting if they do make just s 5.1" screen due to permanent buttons. Also be a daft decision in my mind.
Yeah and for $1,000 to have a smaller screen would be a mistake for me.

I don't want to see 3 variations in size of iPhone!
Please give me one perfect size for everyone!
[doublepost=1488798116][/doublepost]Please give me only one option.
I don't hope choosing an annualy replaced phone to be as complicated as customising a laptop.
If are to make 3 sizes, is fine unless make them to share the exactly same features. That mean that, if one iPhone got curve edges, all of them have it, if one have dual camera all of them have it.
Don't tell me capacity constraint, that's supposed to be figure out by Apple. Apple used to be able to breakthrough.
Just to confuse consumer.

What's the point getting rid of the bezel and the button if you're going to reserve space on the screen to be the button?

My hands need to grow before this next iPhone comes out, and my wallet
I was tempted to go with the SE but find the 6S size perfect. If the standard size gets larger than that I may have to drop back to the next iteration of the SE if they keep that line going. I just don't need a huge phone and don't see the appeal. If it doesn't fit in my jean pocket then I don't want it lol

I'm guessing the I phone Pro come on September I have a upgrade burning a hole in my pocket.
Gold I phone 7 plus 256GB .

meh who cares. stop obsessing about screen size and thickness. redesign the horrible look of the OS, improve the camera, and squash all the bugs

Or TC and Angela Ahrendts. We know 100% about those two. Unconfirmed whether Hell is pretentious or not. "Pro" would also be unimaginative. Again, symbolic of Ye Olde Beancounter TC.

Honestly though, if it's as described in the majority of rumors, I roll my eyes at the name then buy, so TC wins. Ultimately, I don't care about the name. It could be the iPhone Goosefeathers for all I care. I just want a bigger screen w/ similar footprint as the 4.7".

And still 8 months to go until this magical iPhone hits the market.

Wake me up when it:

- Detects unicorns
- Can communicate via sub-space communication networks
- Provides energy using a tiny dark matter reactor
- Can shoot movies in 8K @ 120 fps
- Can be rolled up and/or folded into a finger nail package
- Can emit a reality distortion field combined with AR
- Can teleport objects or people

This is confusing the hell out of me. It's 5.5" but the bezels are smaller so...is this a plus or a regular sized phone? I for one am hopeful for a regular sized X because there is no room for a plus in my pocket. However, I think it would be foolish for apple to not make a plus sized X. It would be disappointing for me if they didn't make a regular sized X.

Do we know for a fact that the plus model outsells the standard model? This seems to be the estimation for the latest release, but the screen aside, the features of the 7 plus outweighed the those of the regular.

Apple has never skipped an S model that I can recall. Why is macrumors buying this rumor and calling the 7s model an 8? Even the last rumor was the newer model would be the iPhone Pro. I'll stick to my belief that's it's the iPhone 7S, 7Plus, and maybe 7Pro, but not iPhone 8, until Apple shows me otherwise.

I wouldn't say maybe 8/7pro. Apple stock is going to tank if all they do is a S iteration.

I'd go one further. Half the features rumored won't appear until an iPhone 8 18 months from now.
