No 3-year option for AppleCare for M5 Air (resolved)

Doesn't it get backdated to align with the purchase date anyway? Or perhaps even the activation date?

Seems to be linked to when I purchased the plan. I thought it would be minus the first 60 days, but apparently not.

The real benefit of the 3 year option is that it's tied to the device and will transfer with it if you sell it while still under Warranty.

That peace of mind is a very appealing thing to have in the resale market.

I tend to buy most of my Apple gear via Amazon, since there's usually a discount. With laptops though, I don't want to be at the mercy of Amazon support, so usually purchase Applecare as well so I can go direct to Apple.

Works out quite nicely, as the £200 saving from Amazon on the laptop purchase has almost paid for the 3 years of Applecare!
