A quote from 9to5Mac: "the company plans an event that will mostly focus on new software". You'd of thought that WWDC was a software event, oh wait...

Been in expectational debt for some years now!
Maybe adjust expectations?

No 5K Thunderbolt Display With Integrated GPU Coming at WWDC and after
There'd been some speculation on Twitter and rumor reports about Apple possibly introducing a display with an integrated eGPU... so ITS INTEGRATED or eGPU(external) ???
Woah... Calm down, friend.

Rene could be just drinking Cupertino iLoop water which has a tendency to make you delusional. Lets hope it is indeed exciting for real. Again, its just a developer conferences. The magic man has been 6 feet under for 5 years now.
Lol... Hilarious.

Yes, there will be. It's called the iMac 5K, and it's a GPU+CPU+etc attached to a monitor.

Costs less than dell's inferior 5K monitor, too!

Even if you upgrade to a PCI-Ex, or fusion drive, still costs less than the Dell!
No, that's called an iMac. Not a monitor. You can't hook anything up to it. And the DELL 5K monitor is $1400.

"keep your eyes locked to the keynote on Monday, June 13, for lots of other amazingly cool stuff." - You'll excuse me if I don't hold my breath...

well that was short lived
It's not dead yet.

That's too bad, I'm sure there were Apple consumers willing to pay $2,000 for outdated mobile graphics cards soldered to the logic board.

Oh well... guess the $5,000 4 year old Mac Pro with 6 year old GPU tech will have to do!
You're such fun. I must ask, how did you get a hold of pricing from Apple for a product they may never introduce? Do tell.

Its been YEARS since an apple keynote announced some 'amazingly cool stuff', even a little. Definitely not 'lots'.

Your bar must be set really, really high. Apple products are some of the coolest, most reliable on the market. They may not release them very often (once a year or so), but when they deliver, they do deliver. You can't ignore that. o_O

Got me there :D (edit: supposed to be a quoted comment but something went wrong)

What I don't understand is what all the talk of it being a great solution for the Macbook was coming from. No Thunderbolt display can work with a machine that doesn't have Thunderbolt, and the Macbook inexplicably doesn't include it. Even if Apple had introduced some amazing videocard integrated into the display, unless you believe that USB 3 has the bandwidth to drive a graphics card (it doesn't), it would only have worked with Thunderbolt devices, and even then probably only new Thunderbolt 3 devices.

Worst day of my life. I want a cinema display for over 4 years now but I refuse to pay the current price tag for it's current specs.
:(

And you'd still complain and not buy it even if they did announce a 5k display. Those that complain about current spec and price aren't going to change their tune even if the spec changes. Just buy the Dell monitors you can afford and be done with it. It's been years since Apple released new monitors and you're going to continue to wait. Obviously monitors mean little to you to wait this long.

What would have been the price anyways? Standalone monitor was $1000. With video card would have been like $1.5k, lol. Just buy an iMac.

Not surprised. This is not the kind of thing Apple would do. The Display, sure. But not some GPU built it. That would kill the products margins. Because it's all about the margins.

No eGPU, no new MacBook Pro for me then, I'll keep using my Winbox for heavy duty.

No monitors, no macbook pro. Apple is on the lazy side this year...But at least we have the super exciting iphone 7 to look forward to after the summer.....(irony)

You must be very young. Worst day of your life is someone you love greatly dies. Or when someone you love is diagnosed with an incurable, fatal disease... or you are. Etc.

It's not when a rumor about a big company releasing a tech product is followed by another rumor saying they are not releasing that product. There's plenty of great monitors you can buy out there.

Worst day? Put down the tech and go out and live a little in the non-tech world. There are many best days and worst days of your life to experience that doesn't even involve technology at all.

At the other end of the spectrum, I recall a "my life is now complete" post in a thread that pretty much confirmed a 5.5" iPhone would indeed be launching. What was that- 2 years ago? That poor guy. His life was complete 2 years ago and now it's all downhill waiting for death.

Maybe you and that guy should connect and then put down the tech and go have some experiences that yield much higher highs and lower lows than you ever get out of a slab of metal, glass, silicon and some electricity?;)

You must be very old.

Not understanding the fact that I was just looking forward to an updated cinema display and decided to make this clear with such a sentence. If you take everything literally people post on this forum, I guess you are 80.

Also if you have nothing better to do than spending 10minutes of your life writing this message to make a person you don’t know anything about feel bad (or what is the purpose of this message?)...

Here’s some context: Yes, I am very young. I am 24, about to incorporate my 3the company and visited over 27 different countries including 4 in Africa. So I guess I kinda know how to combine my passion for tech and my passion for culture & people. Do you? I don't know, because I don't know anything about you so I'm not giving you life-advice. Well, I am a little: try to think before you post next time.

I would not complain, even a model with the current resolution & design with USB3/C and the new (it's not even new anymore) magsafe I would buy. I bought a 5K iMac in stead so (as a designer) I do care about monitors.

"...but keep your eyes locked to the keynote on Monday, June 13, for lots of other amazingly cool stuff."

Yeah, probably a purse in Rose Gold or Space Grey. I am so disappointed about the lack of a new display.

You can't attach another computer to use the monitor, though.

While it sounds cool, it can also create expectational debt.
Dude, what? A high-end GPU costs $200 nowadays. A low-end one costs $50. It's not 2001.

Yeah, back in 2014.

As long as the 5k iMac doesn't support proper display target mode, it's basically useless as a display.
