I will be at WWDC myself so it will be an exiting day anyway :D

Why would that be an exciting day anyway? Timmy Cook is the most uninspiring, boring speaker - I can't stand to listen to him anymore. So scripted and trying to be Jobs cool - which he never will be.

The only thing worse than his piss poor presentation style is that he has nothing to announce other than his never arriving "magical pipeline". Maybe Eddie "The Slob" Cue excites you with his half ass presentations?

I really hope we see several significant product announcements, Apple is at an inflection point now that Timmy boy is going past 5 years as CEO.

I think most are just hoping Apple to introduce something that truly blows us away.

Something that hasn't happened for quite a while.
I agree with this. Every keynote these days is stuff that's been leaked and expected or just not quite as amazing as many had hoped for (think Apple Watch not being much different in function than any of the Android Wear stuff before it).

What bugs me is the length of time between Mac updates both in specs and design versus the past. We would historically see new Mac case designs every 2.5-3 years. Now, it's 4+ years. MacBook Pro and iMac designs came out in 2012, and neither were all that different looking than what they replaced from 2008-2009 aside from thinness.

Aside from the 12-inch MacBook which is beautiful, there has been nothing new on the Mac front for 40% of a decade!

It's time for Apple to stop playing "guess what " games and start announcing what will be introduced before each keynote. There is no point in trying hard to surprise us because that was done in prior 2011. It's time for Apple to play "I'll tell you little about what will be released before keynote" game.

That would be nice, but it requires something to pre-announce that is not a snooze ;)

I'm sure there were Apple consumers willing to pay $2,000 for outdated mobile graphics cards soldered to the logic board.
5K display it isn't, $5k display it is.
you have been waiting on the sidelines for apple to put out a product that has better specs and a lower price than what is currently on the market?
  1. Apple has never released a cinema display for more than $1000.
  2. The 27-inch iMac 5K starts at $1799.
  3. Dell's 27-inch 5K display starts at $1750.
Not sure why folks think a new cinema display would be overpriced, or that the 5K iMac is overpriced.

The original 22-inch Cinema Displays were $4000! I remember drooling over them when we bought a bunch for the lab.

So, scratch eGPU off your list for now, but keep your eyes locked to the keynote on Monday, June 13, for lots of other amazingly cool stuff.

Unfortunately, to Ritchie a new AW band is exciting, so excuse me if I temper my excitement lest I be disappointed. But also hope he is right, just not willing to bet the house.

It's not uncommon for Dell and Apple to use the same brand/model of panel in question, I've seen that in the past as have some professional reviewers...

A pannel and a monitor are two completely different things.
[doublepost=1464901702][/doublepost]
Then use 2 DP connectors. How come Dell can do it? Look, I have the 5K iMac, and the display is amazing, but I would prefer if it could be used as an external display.

It's not perfect.

Integrated GPU in a 5k monitor sounded too cool and too innovative, Apple doesn't do that anymore.

It's a joke. I know it won't cost that much.

I suppose the $1,799 I paid at the Apple store in 2010 for my 30" ACD was a figment of my imagination?!?

I kick myself for not snapping up another one for the $1,599 some places like Frys were selling them when they were discontinued. Grrrrr.

Except they probably don't know whats going to be released or if it is released if it will really work as least based on the last one where the most important item was the robot that recycled iPhones.

The article says that the original iMac 5K used two DP1.2 for the display or something like that

And the current iMac 5K??
