No black band option for silver alum...

Why would they switch it around for you in stores? Doubt it.
Buy an alum+white one and spend another $49 for a black band. Or find someone who wants to make an even swap.
IF I could get the aluminum with black plastic band... I might opt for that. Because I can't, I am possibly stretching for the SS and black band.
Well... better find someone with a small wrist to give you the 2nd larger band.
See the other thread where people have details about the rubber including 2 lengths of bands?

Someone should make a thread for trading white/black sport bands.
I'm really disappointed about this to. The space black sport is my choice at the moment but thinking ahead to when cheaper bands become available I think having a space black aluminium watch limits what straps go with it heavily. Hmmm.
I'm also torn between 38mm and 42mm. I'd like the extra screen size. Guess I'll go in on the 10th and try something on... (is it the 10th they're available to try in store??).

This is the first thing I looked for. I guess I will just get the black on black combo and be content.
The larger band for the 38mm is smaller than the larger band for the 42mm. Same with the smaller bands.
I have huge wrists.
I agree that the space black will limit band styles. When it comes to the silver sport, most of the bands complement it nicley. Only Apple gives you choice but limits you at the same time.
have you measured your wrist? as long as its smaller than 200mm you can go with either 38mm or 42mm

Looks that way. I guess there's absolutely zero chance of there being decent third party bands available on release? Fork out an extra £40 for the black band vs wait a bit for cheap Chinese knockoffs. I think I'd fork out personally.
Since it comes with two bands, I think it will be possible to buy the extra black bands and sell the two bands that don't fit to make up much of the black band price.
Better yet, find someone who buys a white and trade 1 black for 1 white. Every sport comes with 2 rubber bands in the box!
I am sure that this was a very deliberate move from Apple. I am guessing that the black sport band would have been a very popular choice for the Watch Sport edition. So this is a sneaky way for Apple to squeeze more money out of us.
The two bands in the box are different sizes, so if you are big make sure the other person is smaller.
Silver Aluminum Sport Watch and Black Sports band?
When i look at all the combinations on the Apple store, is it true that the one I wanted is not available? The Sport Watch in silver aluminum with the black sport band?
I would hope that Apple would allow a customer to swap out a black sport band for another color if that is the case.

Yeah looks like it is not available so you would have to buy an extra strap. Too many combinations to offer every possible type.
I am hoping it is similar to buying an iMac and wanting a different keyboard. I like a wired keyboard and they will open the iMac box, take out the wireless keyboard, walk over to the shelf and grab a wired keyboard for sale and swap that for me.
So maybe they will do that with the black sports band and silver aluminum Sports Watch.
