Or how about just iPhone (2026). They don’t need to be named that way anymore.iPhone 26, iPhone 26 Air, iPhone 26 Pro and iPhone 26 Pro Max/Ultra in September?
Betcha.

This actually makes really good senseWill we be getting iPhone 26 too? Lol
Which I can update to iOS 28 in fall 2027.Or how about just iPhone (2026). They don’t need to be named that way anymore.
I mean, having an iOS that actually worked correctly would be a major new feature.Though I don't understand a major release with no new features. Go ahead and have a version that is only bug and performance fixes but make it a minor release bump.
But that wouldn't happen. Never been done 100%.I mean, having an iOS that actually worked correctly would be a major new feature.Though I don't understand a major release with no new features. Go ahead and have a version that is only bug and performance fixes but make it a minor release bump.
In 10 yrsWill we be getting iPhone 26 too? Lol
I think because it comes out late 2025. meh, just a number. Why not 25 if it comes out in 2025? 🤷🏻♂️

It wasn’t that price outside the US…Apple sure as heck ignored that when it comes to collecting dollars.
What was the launch price of iPhone X?
The Tim "Penny Pincher" Cook way. Soo much courage on Apple's part...When you run out of ideas…change the numbering scheme. 🥴
Interesting the different experiences of everyone. Personally iOS 18 has worked fine for me. A couple bugs until the first minor release for me. Overall, much better than the best Windows version. But I know everyone has a different mix of what they use reflecting their impressions. Then perhaps we all need to start having higher standards. I'd classify iOS 18 as about as reliable as Windows ME.
Apple desperately needs a reset. If this is as good as it's ever going to get again, we should all be switching to Android.
I know it wasn’t the only reason, just didn’t elaborate on all the possible reasons across companies. The reason I read at the time for windows skipping version 9 is that there was way too much legacy software- including stuff from Microsoft itself - that was using hardcoded wildcard “version 9*” type version checks to identify windows 95/98 vs nt onwards and an actual windows 9 version would have potentially broken these version checks in an awful lot of software.
