Cars (at least in America) are numbered by model year. These model years are tied to the company's fiscal years. Thus, 2026 car models will be coming out in the Fall of 2025 (first Quarter FY26). So Apple's OS will follow the same nomenclature as car model year numbers.WTH is "vehicle-style numbering"?![]()
I see so many people taken aback by this, to point of posting this same query "is it April fools".Is this an April fools joke?
Why? It's pretty standard in the software industry to version the software by year. What a completely baffling and bad idea.
Ironically, Microsoft abandoned this practice after Windows 98, and Office is now just "365" so it's named after every day of the year? The Microsoft-ication of Apple has set in![]()
So am I, but I would rather shame Apple for failing to put out a compelling reason to upgrade those older phones.I think this is a FABULOUS idea! Also, a GREAT marking idea would be to do the same with the phones. ( shaming people in having old phones.) (Yes, I am a stock holder LOL!
Because it won't be seriously usable before 2026...Why 26 and not 25? Serious question
Has anyone counted how many versions there have been og Mac Os since Rhapsody?
They called it MacOs 10 for so long that I lost count.
