Separating the flagship from the peasant device; interesting move Apple.
Oh, but that’s just the beginning - they probably have no plan to put 12+ GB of RAM on the regular iPhone either, both because of memory prices and to keep premium features on the Pro.

I’m still not buying a Pro, I’ll wait it out.

iPhone 5c with modern internals please. Don't need magsafe or wireless charging, but love the idea of a plastic back that won't shatter if dropped, even in a case

when you keep the Low end from having anything substantially better for years dont expect to sell out of them to clear the way for newer models. If it was a must have upgrade they wouldn't be waiting to get rid of their excess stock during the holidays.

I wonder what date in September the event will be. This one will definitely be one I watch, just to see how they differ their foldable from others in the market.
They might roll homepods and the atv into it and make it about siri

iPhone will come out in September like it usually does, I don’t know why people are thinking this year will be any different
Because there’s been a persistent rumor that apple’s moving to a split release cadence with higher end phones in the fall and lower end ones in the spring, and it’s seeming likely

How will this affect the upgrade program users? Hopefully, some type of price adjustment I would hope.

This is the end of the iPhone. We are probably going to see two cycles event per year now Premium (which is the vast majority of iPhone sold with 56 % being the pro max version) and low cost with the introduction of the iPhone Neo and ipad Neo among other products … It’s cool

That's what they've been doing with the H1 release of the SE/E/product red/basic ipad/etc

It's just that now the regular iphone is lumped in alongside the rest of them; and the big sept release is focused on the pro/pro max/fold.

People just have to accept that the base iphone has now been relegated to the spring release in the following year; no different to how the base ipad & air is now in spring; whereas the pro is in autumn.

Eventually; they'll rename the lineup to match the year; like they did for ios versions (sort of); so after that "correction" we'd end up seeing the iphone 29 released in april 2029 (with ios 30 lol), while the iphone 29 pro gets released in november of the same year; people will simply forget they skipped a whole generation (like the iphone 9)

Makes me wonder if they will make Fall the cutting edge iPhone, whatever glasses or cutting edge things they do, and then Spring will be regular iPhones, Watches and things.
