Here comes the good part... in addition to my student discount and free iPod Touch that I got with the back to school promo, they also gave me an extra 15% off the entire order! Way to go Apple for seeing a problem and promptly fixing it and then some. I can finally go back to my old fanboy ways... now if only my iPhone would quit dropping calls;)

That's awesome. I wish we had an Apple store so I could get mistreated then get an extra 15% off. :) :) :D :D :D

Good deal. As many Apple stores as I have been in I've never heard of them not wanting to take your money.
I've been in that store during a business trip earlier this year. Nice folks.

That's such a strange aberration, being turned away at the door because they believe that you need a nanny to guide you through your purchase.

Never been to an Apple Store, but the Authorized Resellers here in the Philippines are always nice. They're not too "hard sell" (as is always the case here) nor do they turn their backs on you.

One reseller here got their authorization revoked because they were taking too long with repairs. It's good to see Apple (at least :apple: Singapore) having such high standards.

So I went in tonight for my Personal Shopping appointment. I arrived at the Apple Store at 6:00 and within a few minutes a really nice and seemingly knowledgeable guy named Miguel was there to help. I told him I really didn't need help picking a Mac, just getting one rung up so I told him which model I wanted and that I would also like to speak to the store manager.

Before doing anything else he immediately got the manager, Miles, to come over and speak with me. I explained the situation from the previous night when I was denied the purchase of my new Mac. Miles was incredibly apologetic and yet still very articulate and professional with his response. He explained that the situation was handled poorly and that it was a matter of improper training which would be addressed.

Way to go! Congrats to both you and Apple for handling this situation with some class.
