Angela Ahrendts made a statement to reduce queues in Stores, if there are no products to purchase there at the Stores, then the queues will certainly dwindle.

Maybe, this is the way she want to it go, make the Stores a "Product Display", and you order online.

There never been long lines for a new Mac, Apple bungled the launch by not keeping on top of it`s vendors...

Q-6

Apple dropped the ball on this one. At my try-on appointment yesterday I asked about display MacBooks and the staff didn't even know what to say. Do they not tell them anything?

I've checked Westfield. No stock. They say it's not out yet, and I can preorder online. They don't know when it's available as they have no demo kit either.
I don't know why Apple have said its available from the 10th. It's clearly not.

Hey Apple,

We love you and we understand sometimes you make mistakes

Can you please send in confirmation to the press when you are going to have the Macbook for display for your stores outside the US and when is the official release date.

Best wishes, your customers.

Yesterday I went to an AS and they didn't have any Macbook to display. I'm not talking about buying one in the store (of course they don't have in stock), I can't even have a look at one to choose the color, try the new keyboard and trackpad.

I can order the Macbook from the online AS in my country, but Apple thinks I should place the order before I can put my hands on one of them

must've went to 3-4 different apple stores in last week or so. and every one of them used the same "Sorry, we don't have any in store (or on display) but you can order them online". so I assume that's a part of their training speech.

Kinda sad. Do they really expect people to fork over 1.5-2K of their money without actually look at the product in real life?

Yesterday I went to Kingston-Upon-Thames and popped into the Apple Store. Seemed no busier than normal and was surprised at the seemingly lacklustre interest in the watch.

Lots of big photos of the MacBook, but nothing to look at. There was, however, a lot of empty desk space, as if they were expecting them.

Personally, this lack of stock to even look at has made me give up buying a MacBook. Why have physical stores if the products aren't there to try before you buy? Apple should have pushed-back the release date if the inventory wasn't there.

I've read on threads on here that the display units are expected to appear in UK stores on 24th April, just display only no stock.

I'm generally a patient person but even I am checking my online order regularly to see whether they bumped up my delivery date.

Might as well wait for sky lake at this rate. 720p webcam (480p is a shambles), sky lake improvements, possible DDR4, same SSD speeds as 2015 pro and air, hopefully another usb c port etc

Whether they expect it or not, people are evidently doing it. I put in my order at lunchtime on the 10th and the shipping time was already 4-6 weeks at that point.
Just checked the online store, nearly 2 weeks later, and the shipping is still 4-6 weeks. So the lack of in store display models doesn't appear to be harming the demand vs supply ratio too much.

If RESELLERS in counties like Austailia and Canada have then INSTOCK and for sale and not to mention Best Buy sell them BEFORE  then this is not a FAIL this is a BIG FAIL that I highly doubt ever happened in the history of .

I remember that the 2012 rMBP took a week, or two, to show up in the UK Apple stores, but this is ridiculous. I want to try out the keyboard and see the size for myself before making the decision between a 13" rMBP and the MB.

No display model in the Toronto, Canada Eaton Centre store.
Shipping time in Canadian store 4-6 weeks
Very surprising no display models.

Tomorrow is the day some have said they will have stock in UK Apple Stores, anyone had any updates?

Little bump! Would be good to see if they're actually any display units in UK stores as promised. Might nip down to Regent Street after work tonight.

Just checked the Cambridge store, none on display. The staff said they probably won't have any in until the online dispatches drop down to 1-2 days, so "probably June".

Been on display & sale (not at Apple stores) since last weekend

I'm surprised at the complete lack of rMB presence, even display models, in the UK. The display models appeared in Australia since about last weekend, and non-Apple outlets have had a few to sell this week.

Given that both the UK and Australia are healthy markets for Apple, It's odd that there's a difference. We're a bit closer to China here in Australia, I suppose!

I went to the flagship Sydney Apple store yesterday and spent 20 minutes with a space grey rMB - it's a beautiful piece of kit! The Apple employees didn't have any idea when they'll have them in store to sell. A bit pathtetic considering other electronic retailers were selling them - similar to Best Buy in the US.

Apple have either underestimated the demand for this computer, or have been excessively optimistic about their ability to deliever. As someone else has said, they would have been better to give a more pessimistic release date, allow pre-orders a couple of weeks before launch, or clearly lay out the on-line only ordering. They've caused dissatisfaction to their customers, which is never good for a brand.

This is the point.

Had they set realistic dates and kept people fully informed, it would be a different story.

Even now, they remain silent as if no-one will notice. I'm embarrassed for them.

Good point.
The iPhone rollout is the best one in my opinion. There is an high demand but you know you have to wait for Apple to announce the launch date on your country and they have iPhones to display when you are able to order them, so you can walk to the AS, try the product and buy the right one for you there or at home on their online store.

At least they should display some Macbooks on the AS if they give you the ability to order online. Is a real shame they don't have a single model to display and they are not able to tell you when they will be available.

Anyone near Covent garden? I rang in and the Apple Store online people said they should be getting some stock around 1PM? Can anyone confirm this?
