The screen is not 1mm larger, but 20%. The watch case is now 1mm larger.
Apple watch are 50m WR, which is much more than the IP68 rating:
- IP = Ingress Protection
- 6 = Dust Tight
- 8 = Survives being submerged in water up to 1.5m deep (normally for 30 minutes)
“Apple Watch Series 7, Apple Watch SE, and Apple Watch Series 3 have a water resistance rating of 50 meters under ISO standard 22810:2010. This means that they may be used for shallow-water activities like swimming in a pool or ocean. However, they should not be used for scuba diving, waterskiing, or other activities involving high-velocity water or submersion below shallow depth. Series 7 is also rated IP6x dust resistant.”If 50m WR is so much more than IP68 then it would include all Watches down to the Series 3 with at least IPx8? But nope, the Series 7 just had IP6x which means it’s dust resistance but water submersion isn’t certified/tested.
WR50 afaik means it’s okay for swimming up to 50m depth of water, but not for prolonged, constant submerge.
Very sweeping assumptions about ‘most people’The SE is the perfect watch for most. Basically the latest chip and no need for ECG and blood oxygen monitoring. Heart rate sensor is good enough for most people. Personally, I think AoD is a nice-to-have feature but I can live without it.
Maybe there way of saying if the water goes in it's not our problem...If 50m WR is so much more than IP68 then it would include all Watches down to the Series 3 with at least IPx8? But nope, the Series 7 just had IP6x which means it’s dust resistance but water submersion isn’t certified/tested.

It seems like you really like the keyboard. Can I ask how you find it (any issues or things that you particularly like/dislike about it)?As long as Apple keeps pumping out a new version every year, I will keep buying it, no matter how incremental of an upgrade everyone else thinks it is. The addition of a native keyboard and fast charging may seem incremental to some but to me, those were huge upgrades and changed how I use my watch. Can’t wait to see what the next model brings. Besides, I got to keep it fresh. From the leaks and rumors, to the anticipation, to the keynote, to the numerous website refreshing on the morning of launch, to the order placement and waiting for shipping, to the unboxing and set up, to the eventual usage. It’s anything but boring. To me, boring would be using the same thing over and over for a few years. That’s just me though.
Same as you, I found dictation to not be completely reliable. If one word was screwed up, especially at the end of a relatively long text and it changes the context of the text, the whole thing had to be recreated lol. It was somewhat mitigated by allowing a correction to the text but that’s just takes time. The scribble was way too slow like you said as well. There are times when I need to get a quick text out and not able speak out loud. That’s where the keyboard shines for me.It seems like you really like the keyboard. I use my watch pretty heavily (leaving the phone at home when I can) and one of the main shortcomings of watch only is having to use Siri to dictate text replies. It works ok usually, but every now & then, it misunderstands a word & I have to cancel/ start over. using the scribble is very slow. I think the keyboard will be a massive improvement, but aside from that, I'm happy with my Series 5. I'm almost down to 80% battery life. When I get there I'll replace the battery & hope that the series 8 has cellular band 71 for T Mobile, but I am looking forward to getting a watch that has the keyboard.
I have this app on my Series 0, 3 and 4 & find it useful.....some people say that Apple copied their keyboard......just my .02 cents. It seems like you really like the keyboard. Can I ask how you find it (any issues or things that you particularly like/dislike about it)?

Ps. I have nothing to do with this developer just like apps that are well written and useful..

That may be true for you. Others find the benefits of the alway-on display and larger displays worth the upgrade. Isn't it nice that everybody can make their own choice? This isn't one of those 'does anybody because I don't...' rhetorics but genuine question: does anybody use theirs for *anything* other than timekeeping/payments/Siri/fitness? Because if you don't then there is little reason to upgrade from a 4 to anything later.
Agreed … It’s great that we can all choose, I choose to upgrade mine every year, however small, there is always a difference which is good enough for me. Fitness and staying healthy are a big part of my life and I choose to sink money into an AW each year to help me achieve this as well as all the other features that an AW offers. That may be true for you. Its not that those aren't great features. Any hardware upgrade is worth it to somebody. That may be true for you. Others find the benefits of the alway-on display and larger displays worth the upgrade. Isn't it nice that everybody can make their own choice?
That would drive me totally mad. I have several watch faces set up that I switch between constantly. As in I often swipe through several in a minute, to check all the info I have distributed among several faces. And what do you mean by widgets, aren't most complications already widgets? If you want 1x1 widgets, try the X-Large face with complications. You get one large complication per face. For example: Holding the screen should be required to change watchface so that the left swipe and right swipe gestures can be opened up for further functionality (1x1 widgets?).
It’s more so that 1x1 iOS widgets just work across Watch OS without any porting required. You’re like me and have several watch faces with multiple bits of info because one doesn’t cut it (eg Siri face to the left). This should be replaced by the ability to just have a page of complications or thereabouts without displaying the time as a sub-screen to one side. That would drive me totally mad. Well, the most complications you can currently fit on a single face is 8 on the Infograph face, and that's still not enough to see everything I want to see. It’s more so that 1x1 iOS widgets just work across Watch OS without any porting required. But wouldn't it be better if you could swipe between pages of actual information instead of a bunch of watchfaces you had to make because the facility wasn't there? For example there are, what 5-6 complications for weather? Why not a weather widget showing all that info at once? Thats what left and right swipes would be for; you wouldn't need top change the watchface because the information would be elsewhere.Well, the most complications you can currently fit on a single face is 8 on the Infograph face, and that's still not enough to see everything I want to see.
I do wish the placement and size of the time display were customizable, but I also know there is no way to fit all the info I want to check on a single watch screen -- if you did, the info would be too small to read! So some form of scrolling or swiping is necessary, and that should always be done by a simple swipe, not touch and hold to invoke.
I think we might be arguing vocabulary. I don't care if it's called a watchface or widget, I just want to organize the info the way I want them, and be able to swipe or scroll through them without having to long press. But wouldn't it be better if you could swipe between pages of actual information instead of a bunch of watchfaces you had to make because the facility wasn't there? Exactly. My arguement is that you shoukdn't have to set up loads of watchfaces just for complication data and that WatchOS itself is getting a bit long in the tooth with lots of wasted interactions.I think we might be arguing vocabulary.
