So it seems that they didn't announce any changes to the MBP at MacWorld. When do people now think the next round of upgrades/price decreases will come?

Summer 2008? (Thought that is a long time to hold off Penryn Upgrades. Maybe it will be a silent bump on their website)

Yeah, same here, but at least I know its safe to go buy one now and not have to worry about it, leaving in the next 30 minutes or so to go get mine!

Yeah guys, it is going to be a silent bump most likely. Don't worry. (or it will come real soon after today)

Intel is behind shipping mobile Penryns, so Apple likely couldn't ship product with them even if they wanted to.

So they are either waiting until they get product, or they will wait until May with the new mobile CPUs.

let's hope...i've been putting off buying a mbp until macworld. hopefully the update isn't too far down the road.

does apple ever take the store offline twice in one day? could there be another update later?

Oh, and without a doubt, the new MBP has to get the MBA keyboard right, and magnetic latch, so this is a substantial update.

They didn't announce it at MWSF so it probably is at least three to four weeks off, IMHO.

    Probably a silent update.
Wondering if it get the MBA's new features. Mainly multitouch and LED for the 15" as well.

I hope you're right about the first part. The second part I will choose to ignore.

I highly doubt this is the reason. I'm guessing the outline for the speech was decided at least a month ago. The chip delay seems like it will be a 2-4 week delay max. Apple would have still wanted to announce the upgrades at MacWorld if that had been the original plan.

I'm guessing they didn't want to take the focus away from the MBA (macbook air), but it is certainly a disappointment b/c many of us want a new updated MBP

I'm going to wait until they update the processor speed. I'm hoping they'll also give the touchpad the new capabilities and maybe give the old graphics card a bump as well. Next week or June, I don't care.

Oh well. Guess I'm just going to get the 2.4 Ghz model from the :apple: store. I can wait until Friday so I can play with it over the weekend.

Nice if they did the silent Penryn update before then, but I'm done waiting.

Still a heck of a machine, so I'll be happy anyways.
