That's the exact same model I got for $1000 off at the refurb store, and couldn't be happier. It's a great computer for a great deal.

Some people just have to have the latest, though.

Some also have to have the best too. or like me, simply need to upgrade(once every three years) , a 7 hour battery is and was a great selling point and a supreme advantage over the previous series, not only because of the amount of time, but because of the technology put into the battery itself, an SD slot is nice(would prefer express card), but 3.06 is even better, and you cant get that speed with the previous series

The 15" 2.4 model for 1349 is VERY VERY tempting. But Im afraid it is too heavy to carrry around in college, forcing me to leave it in the dorm sometimes.

I had the same concern as you! infact, I initially bought the 13" then just days later returned it for the 15" pro and never looked back, i can hardly tell the difference and the larger screen is sooooooo much worth it. What i noticed with the 13" is that the icons at the bottom seem to take up a lot of the already small screen real estate. I take my laptop everywhere in my messenger bag no issue whatsoever. good luck man

The new ones are NOT a downgrade in functionality unless I am missing something? I just sold my March 09 model for a new one and it blows the old one away in terms of speed. the ONLY think that the new one for sure doesnt come close is the graphics! Just viewing web pages the colors look more faded than the other one by about 25%.

The new ones are barely faster. They performed a major cut in functionality by removing the ExpressCard and the swappable battery.

An 8 GiB RAM option was offered for the March '09 models, so no gain there either.

Hi,
looking at buying a refurb as I want to be able to replace battery and HDD without pulling apart the whole system. I have done this on previous models but.... ya know !

can someone confirm something for me. the description on the page says:

this means it is the 512mb graphics option right ? the first part where "they say 9400 with 256 shared" is refering to the secondary 9400 chipset right ?

cheers,

t.

Obviously, whoever wrote that has no idea about the subject.
