Yeps, but they better be serious. The Nexus 9 looks really beautiful.

Nexus 9 is beautiful indeed. I can't help but to see that they somehow 'copied' iPad design philosophy in one way or another. That color option also mirrors ipad: black, white (silver), gold.

Finally that 8.9" 4:3 form factor. Looks like the best. Not too big or too small. Just nice. Maybe can hold in one hand too.

I had a Note 3. Of all the useless features, split screen ranked near the top.
For you maybe but not for me and many others. Many people are unaware of just how capable those phones are but Apple certainly is.

----------

The whole tablet phase is going away. Phones are so big people don't need a tablet along with their 6 inch phone.
While phones are definitely getting larger they can't fully replace tablet size and feel. I will say less people will carry their tablets out of their homes though. I had an iPad mini for a while and found it to be best all around to carry but Apple is neglecting it badly.

This isn't the case. The truth is that while most people get a new phone every 2 years, they are not buying new tablets as often. It's more like xxx amount of people bought tablets the first few years they were available, people still buy them and they will continue to sell, just not at the huge surge they did the first few years. They will sell steadily as more people get them and more people update in time (3-4 years is my guess).

iPad Air to iPad Air 2 is about as good of jump that iPhone 5 to iPhone 5S was, in my opinion.

iPad Pro would be awesome at home; but I certainly don't wan't to carry the screen half of a 13" laptop around everywhere.

6 Plus threatens to kill iPad Mini, as evidenced by Apple's positioning of the device, but no way does 6 Plus kill the iPad. I tried for a week of regular work and use--absolutely impossible as iPad replacement on "real" work.

This post and thread title is why we still need a down vote button.

Different users have different needs. I've often been frustrated with my iPad 1 and iPad 3 that I can't really multitask very well. This is the most important feature for me in order to boost productivity, and without better multitasking there are just better tablets for me to buy then the new iPad Air 2.

Ha I commented on Reddit that it looks like an iPad and I got downvoted to hell. Everyone was thinking it, I just said it.

Funnily enough I have heard this elsewhere that more and more Apple is starting to be seen by kids as the mum and dads brand.
The kids love to customize and change things and actually be different and Android gives them all of that and more.

I've no idea how true this is, but I've heard it said before now.

As we get older I have no doubt that Apple wont be "cool" any more with younger people. It's already starting to happen with Facebook.

Then don't buy it. I doubt even if Apple put 16Gb of RAM and charged the same price you would buy it.

You're right I wouldn't, because 16GB would be a waste without better multitasking ;)

As iPad sales have already been slumping due to a lack of improvements already, you wouldn't have to contend with outrageous lineups in the first place :)

iPad sales are slumping due to lack of improvement you say...makes the ipad mini 3 with no A8 even more unfortunate of a decision.

Even looking at the 5k iMac, it has a 5k monitor but then only 8gb of ram and no SSD. Have they lost their minds? It's $2500, and it hardly would of cost them more to put an SSD into the damn thing.

Apple is so miserably out of touch with reality here.

Umm...ok so go get another computer with better specs and a 5K display. I'll wait to find out which one you choose.:apple:

As others have said, you get a 1TB Fusion Drive (with 128GB PCIe SSD) or 256GB SSD at that price. Spend the $100 for 16GB of RAM and the machine is still priced insanely well for that display. INSANELY well.

I agree, just got rid of my iPad 1 earlier this year only because of browser issues(constant closing)other than that it was fine. Although I also had an iPad mini first gen which I traded in for the iPad Air.

Actually I think that's a great point and I'm considering buying the new iMac now ;)

Can't say the same for the iPad though.

Then by all means, get what works best for you. If multitasking is so important to you then an Android or Surface tablet would be a better option for you.
