I know it probably won't happen, but I'd love to see an iPhone model with a physical keyboard.

If not a physical keyboard, an on-screen keyboard with haptic feedback. I have big fingers and it would make typing a whole lot easier.

I've always thought that the N950 looked like something that Apple would make:

iPhone 6. If the "S" versions of the iPhone were not included in the numbering scheme, iPhone 4 would have been called iPhone 3.

However, my bets are on "the new iPhone."

YES! Thank you! It's so frustrating!

People say "well, Apple went from 3G and 3GS to 4!"
Well, so? That's because the iPhone 4 was actually the fourth iPhone model!
3G and 3GS names are based on data speeds, nothing to do with generation numbers.

The 5th generation phone was called 4S, yet it's impossible that the next one could be called the 5 because it's the 6th generation? How does that make sense?

Just like the new iPad, Apple won't have a "special" feature for the iPhone 5.

Just the key features (based on leaks)
1. 4-inch Retina display
2. Dual-core A5X chip
3. 4G LTE
4. iOS 6
5. FaceTime HD camera
6. Thinner, lighter design

I know the iPhone 4S had Siri and iPhone 4 had FaceTime, but do you think Apple is done with the "one more thing"?

I mean some people have really high expectations and want something like 128GB, NFC, over 4-inch screen, 3D display/photographs, etc.

Not saying Apple won't do those, but based on the iPhone 4S and iOS 6...is it smart to get hope all up for those cool and new tech?

Tons of people were disappointed with iOS 6...

2) Not even the A5X chip, but an A5 chip.
4) I wouldn't call this a new key feature. Even the iPhone 3GS will get iOS 6.
5) Leaks suggest the same, VGA front facing camera
6) Thinner, yeah. Lighter? Mm... it's bigger and the backplate exists mostly out of metal. I think it will be heavier.

That leaves 4G LTE and a 4-inch display. I also hope Apple has some extra, cool, unknown feature. 4G LTE coverage is far from great in the US and in the rest of te world you'll mostly find 3G instead of 4G.

So, in my opinion, the onliest real new feature is the 4-inch display. So, yes, I hope the next iPhone offers more new functionality. :)

I agree panthers fan, Apple is going to streamline its products the same way it does it's Mac computers. It's not like they call them the "MacBook Air 4" they simply call the new model the MacBook Air and expect the buyer to have enough common sense to figure out which year version it is.

They make to much money on folks paying $100 to get $10 worth of memory, I don't see the base 16 getting boosted.

Sadly I don't see them putting in an A6 processor since Apple prefers to hold back on upgrades. Otherwise I would say the OP is on the mark and likely nothing really special since its all either been speculated or leaked.

Did I miss the keynote? My calendar says Aug 30.

Seriously, there has always been an OS feature on the newest phone that isn't available on previous phones with the same OS. Just b/c there are lots of rumors out I wouldn't go so far to assume they are the final word and everything leaked is all there is.

Well I guess you were wrong. :p
