Is it just me and my local stores, or are there absolutely no stainless steel 42mm Series 2 watches available in stores? This was since day 1 on Friday. Every store I check, even online, "not available for pick up." What's the deal?

When I picked up my phone, I asked about getting a watch, since I had one ordered... and she said, after checking, we have NO watches. Wanted to get a S2 42 to replace my S0.

So, like JB, watches may have sold out quickly on the original allotment, also.

high demand, low supply... i would keep checking inventory online (in the mornings) and you might get lucky. I was able to find series 2 (42mm) on the target website... it was the last one and I got lucky.

I think it is absolutely ridiculous how impossible it is to buy an apple product on launch. You have willing customers that want to blow nearly a thousand bucks and they make it near impossible.
So it is "ridiculous" that the demand is exceeding the supply. So should Apple have a couple of million potential customers 'knocked off' so you can move up?:rolleyes:

Yes, that was the point. Apple has had preorders up since 9/9. They have historical day to use on product launches but yet they still have inventory issues. Whose fault is that? The buyer or the supplier?

Maybe Apple should hire you to straighten out their faults in precisely predicting the demand, line up OEM suppliers, secure manufacturing and implement perfect JiT deliveries.:D:D

I was in Best Buy for something else and thought I'd ask, just in case... Not only did they have stock but they had 3 SS Black 42mm! Several other models too...

I got very lucky and happened to check the inventory of the Black Milanese 38mm SS watch for my gf and there was one at the world trade center apple. I ordered it and it was the last one. Drove to the city and got it! Cancelled my delayed online order.

Same here, no Series II. But, the likes of Best Buy, have countless Series I...

Are you firing Tim first?:D:D:D:D

Also it seems like a person as intelligent and knowledgeable as you would have foreseen the situation and just ordered one?:eek::D

I did order one and guess where it is? One place it's not, is on my wrist. You have not added anything to this posting except criticizing people. Good luck with that.

Friendly info: there are some available at Targets in Brooklyn if you are located in NYC. Just check their online inventory checker. I was surprised they had some and i was able to snag one from a BK target :)

This is the Series 1 you're talking about.

Dumb question, are people finding that stock on Apple's site is generally correct?

My local BB got several series 2 in today. Keep checking and calling bc the websites are not always updated

I was considering canceling my Nike order if I could find one in stores but checked BB website and Apple. Apple shows me my 6 closest stores and none of them have any and BB still shows 'pre-order' but I'm too lazy to go ask :)

You have to call and/or visit your BB

Don't believe the reps. The mobile app shows which stores have stock and there are a few around me that still have aluminum series 2 watches in stock.
