the mobile hotspot feature is great..... until a call comes in :D

I hate verizon but competition is great for me as a consumer.... AT&T can't sit back on its heels anymore and guess who benefits from that

I agree.
You're tethering to your laptop using your verizon smartphone and you're trying to download a program or a file off the internet.
Then someone calls you and your download fails. You answer the call, hey dude Im trying to download something on my computer. I'll call you back.
Then you start again, the download gets to around 90% and you get another call:D
Damn it:D Just gotta pray nobody decides to contact you while you're trying to do anything important cause it can get annoying.

That's correct. It was the first iPhone with EDGE that had that limitation.

Yeah, I remember, it was always frustrating.

As long as calls can still come through while I'm using data this is a non issue for me. I don't think I've ever used data while simultaneously talking on my iPhone. I don't even talk on it very much at all.

What I'm really interested in seeing is some real world AT&T 3G vs. Verizon 3G speed comparisons.

These type of tests have been done ad nauseam across the US for years. It really depends on what square meter in whatever city/area you are in on who is going to do better. No ones towers are typically side by side so it is really not a very scientific test in the "real world", IMO.

Exactly. I was raised to believe when you are on the phone you give your full attention to that person. It was one of my father's pet peeves. Why are you on the phone with me if you are just off in la-la land while I jabber on?

Um just the other day I was remote controlling my uncles Mac using Team Viewer app while still talking to him.

Also what about the hotspot feature. What good is hotspotting to 5 devices and not be able to take an incoming call.

not a big deal.

if youre streaming music or using the navigation and a call happens to come in...the music/navigation will pause and you can choose to take the call or not. its not like you are going to miss a call completly as most people assumes it.

I'm glad it doesn't affect you, and I know you're going to enjoy your iPhone. However, don't discredit the concern just based on your experience. Lots of people don't use it, and the Verizon iPhone is a great thing for them. However, many people DO use it, and so this is a deal breaker. It's also not anything that should come as a surprise to anyone. This has never been possible with CDMA, and we should have known this years ago when people were first speculating about this phone

Yeah, you should hear how much my gf loves it when she calls and asks me to look something up and I tell her "Honey, that's rude, I wouldn't want to pay attention to anything but you." Because clearly you couldn't do anything productive on the phone and internet at the same time.
