Yes, I'm strictly speaking about iOS touch screen products. Not going to compare the iMac and MBP since one is desktop and other is notebook. If you want portable, you have no reason to get an iMac. However, with the iPod Touch and iPad, they are both portable and can run the same apps (so to speak).

Not everyone can get the on contract price so it's best to use the early upgrade price and off contract.

An LTE iPad costs basically the same as an iPhone 5 off contract as well. They are both portable iOS touchscreen devices that run iOS apps, have 16GB storage, and have built in cellular radios.

Just wondering why you would pay $399 for a iPad Mini, when you could get same device but bigger screen (iPad 2) for the same price? iPad Mini is just a shrunk iPad 2, probably (unfortunately in many cases) with the lightning connector. I'm not sure why many are implying they would pay the same amount as the iPad 2 for the iPad mini.

...More portable?

...More portable?

Well it will be that :) . But that is why it needs to be significantly cheaper because otherwise most people will buy the larger tablet if the price is the same. Shrunk iPad 2 at the same price as a unshrunk iPad 2 isnt going to take a bunch of sales away from Nexus, Nook and Kindle tablets which is the intent here.

Hmmm.... seems I was right....

Those prices are rumors from "anonymous sources". Don't count your chickens before they hatch...

These other leaked prices show the iPad Mini/Air/Whatever starting at $249. I think $329 is more likely considering Apple's history, but you never know.

It was 329 dollars... not 350 or higher.

You were off by 21 dollars.... So, you were wrong?

Is that what you are trying to say?

But it wasn't $249 or $299 like most people said.

Most people WANTED it to be $249 or $299. No way it would be $249. The iPod touch is $299. Everyone knows that. MacRumors and 9to5Mac BOTH reported that it would be $329, and all of the $299 and $249 numbers you were hearing were angry responses to that. We all knew it would be $329. While you were right to think it would be more expensive, I think the vast majority of MR readers were pretty confident it would be $329 after the rumor dropped.
