And here it is currently at 90 days of daily use. Leather is holding up well despite all the scuffs it’s accumulated from me dropping it 😅 as expected the squared edges are darkening faster than the rest, but the case has darkened entirely into a nice deep navy blue which I absolutely love (yes I switched to the pacific blue iPhone)

How does that grams case fit? Never popped off when you dropped it?

Not at all, super snug unlike apple. It’s my favorite feature as well as how tactile the buttons are
How would you compare the size with Apple's leather? I'm still on the hunt for a nice darker blue leather case but I am really happy with how my current black leather fits.
It fits very snug compared to apple, the corners pop in place and stay in place I’ve even done a few drop tests on my own comparing. It feels similar to apple as well just a tiny bit bulkier because it has a higher raised lip but it is a freak fee to it . I’d say go for it at the price they are currently
Just saw this - and the photos. I really like how this ages and it does have that Midnight Blue look (one of my favorite Apple colors, cases from 3, 4 years ago)
Just checked, DOH...looks backordered for 12 PM
May go for it, decent price and June 14...only a month from today. Might even ship before that, maybe.
I wish they had a saddle brown option. One of their new colors listed seems to be the white color way.
Thought I’d bump this thread. First pic is of a brand new Nomad (iPhone 12) compared to my Nomad (iPhone 12 mini) I’ve used for somewhere around 70-80 days. The mini’s case is much darker in real life; I used a decent amount of lighting to show the scars, scratches and imperfections in the leather.

Yeah ok, I'd be very happy with that. For 3 months that's really nice. That leather look is about what I like in a case like that.
Glad to see a couple companies (grams(28) and decoded) are offering leather cases that cover the bottom now. Back when the 12s came out, the Apple leather was the only one I could find that covered the bottom, so I went with that despite not loving it. I tried a few others, but all of the ones with the cut away at the bottom kill my pinky on the 12 PM. That design worked with the old rounded bottom iPhones because the rounded iPhone also rested on your pinky and distributed the weight, but with the flat bottoms, the sharp corner of the case is the only thing that rests on your pinky, and the 12 PM is hella heavy and puts too much pressure there.
Since iPhone 12, Apple are using a different kind of leather. It has a kind of coating which leaves a terrible patina.

I'm very tempted by Decoded's navy MagSafe case. Has anybody ordered/received one yet that can share some impressions (obviously doesn't have to be navy)? Mainly I'm looking for how it compares to Apple's leather in regards to buttons, fit, thickness, etc.

I posted this in another thread, I just got my brown magsafe decoded and it is really really good. Very tight fit, much better than any of the apple leather cases I tried. Buttons are great and leather feels great right out of the box, not slippery like apples. Covered bottom if you get the magsafe version and the cutouts are good. Only thing I can't comment on is the strength of the magnets, I don't have any magsafe accessories. It is thicker than my ringke onyx but I sent my apple leather back before I got this so I can't compare the size.
Overall I would say Decoded>Bullstrap>apple>Blackbrook
I haven't tried a Grams28 yet, ordered one but it's not in stock until June.
The only issue I have with Bullstrap is that the bottom isn't covered, otherwise it's a good case as well.

I have a navy Decoded case and the saddle brown apple case. Size wise they are virtually identical. The Apple case has better button feel. Thats not to say the Decoded has bad feel, its just not as good... but it does get better with age. It takes a few days for the leather to allow the buttons to move smoothly and then its fine. The leather quality is infinitely better with Decoded. Smells great, feels great, ages great. I'm 2 months in and still love the case. My apple case was a gross mess after 6 weeks. Can't comment on magsafe strength as I don't use magsafe.
