I had my phone in my lap while driving my car. Got out the car and my phone hit the ground. Now I have a terrible looking scratch on it. Im so sad!! Wondering if my 90 day apple warranty covers any cosmetic damage. I also bought the square trade warranty for two years the day I bought the phone.
I tried to call them all day but been on hold for over 15 minutes...my case wont be here until next week.

Pic! :)

And no the warrenty doesn't cover damage like that to my understanding.

While AppleCare might be generous enough to help you, don't count on it because that's not what its for. This sounds like an issue for SquareTrade.

On the plus side you can stop obsessing about having a pristine phone.

I know Ive been showing off my phone for over a week now. I should have bought a cheap case until the one I wanted arrived ;( Yes Im hoping Square Trade will help me out. I'll even try apple care and beg, maybe that will work too :)

It continues to amaze me how extremely good people are at dropping their phones. I had a Sony Ericsson for 3 years and didn't drop it once. I've had my iPhone 4S for more than a year now and I haven't dropped that once.

But I feel you. Good luck with that!

How big is the scratch? Unless you bought Applecare + it won't help you out, only phone issues/problems from the Phone, not user error sadly. But the square trade should help you out. Good luck!

and put a screen protector or case on it :)

File a claim to your credit card company to get it replaced under the 90-day accidental damage protection and you'll get reimbursed the $229 or up to the price you paid for it.

It's still amazes me that people don't protect there phones with a good case like an Otterbox defender . If you had used an Otterbox there would be no need for this thread:D

Don't worry. You will likely drop it a few more times. And then it will be broken. And then you will be covered.

b.c they look awful! Squaretrade for sure. I doubt apple would replace it for cosmetics w/o applecare+. Maybe if something was not functioning you could get lucky and they would replace it. Purely for cosmetics with no applecare+....maybe a 1% chance.

They don't look bad at all I think that my phone looks sexy and feels better to use and I don't have to worry about scratching or dropping my phone . Where I live you have to use a case or your will mess your phone in the first week. Sand and the Iphone don't mix so I will always go with an Otterbox defender for the win

If you are still within 30 days you might be able to add AppleCare+ but that could be considered fraud...

Not fraud, OP'd still be able to add APP+ since the phone (in theory) still works just fine. Why would Apple be against making an additional $150 for less than 15 minutes worth of work?
