Couldn't wait till May 13, canceled order, bought a SS with black sport band on craigslist for around 100$ extra. Gonna order my link band later.
God damn, I hate the thought that I supported the scalping business

you are the reason they exist.

I know right? Impatient people like me sigh. Ashamed ashamed :/
On the other hand I get to play with it on my wrist almost a month in advance :B

Even a dollar extra is bad.

Apple should tie the apple ID used to order to new devices for a set period of time ...maybe until 3 months or so after launch.

That's not bad at all.
My local craigslist offers were:
$800 for a 42mm SG
$600 for a 38mm white sport
$700 for an open box 42mm white sport

Oh, so what?! You wanted it and you got it! That’s life. People gonna hate no matter what you do! And ON THE OTHER HAND, you will have your watch on it!

What if someone bought it, didn't like it, and wanted to sell it? Should they be forced to return it? What if someone bought the watch as gift, or didn't like it after buying it for themselves and gave it to someone else as a gift?

I'm not a fan of scalpers either, but they're simply a given in these situations. I'd much rather be allowed to do what I like with the item I purchased then be penalized because some people abuse the system.

I don't really see the problem with it, to be honest. Free market, resale, etc. etc.

Especially if I can sell my SG for enough to upgrade to a SB :D

(Not planning on it, but you never know...)

NOOOOO I gave in to scalpers

It's only $100, well worth it for not having to get up 3am, and the instant satisfaction of getting the watch the moment I decided that I want it.

Spot on. My local craigslist offers are similar.

People who have money are willing to pay a high price to get a hot item FAST!

I get that you wanted your Watch. I understand that. Hell, I'm at the point where I've put an order down for a Sport just so I can play with it until my SS order ships. Selling that will be a pain in the arse, I'll probably take the hit and pass it along to a family member.

The cost isn't really the issue. In the grand scheme of things, $100 isn't a big deal. But every time someone buys from a scalper you encourage those *******s who cast a shadow over product launches of any kind.

Cheapest I could find was $150 more than retail and it's gone now. I would also get one for just $100 more. I AM SICK OF WAITING!

Good job! I have now ordered multiple colors because of the 42mm Black SG delays...ordered :05 past the launch and have to wait 6 weeks?!?!! Come on.

Don't feel bad. I blew more than that for a Sport from a scalper.

Your time has value and at $100 premium that's well worth it.

I did the same, payed $150 extra for the SS Milanese loop.
It's the one I really wanted though with the exact band I wanted so I don't feel too guilty.
If I didn't buy it somebody else would have so oh well!

Ignore the "holier-than-thou" responses. I don't blame you. I shopped craigslist, etc. myself because I ordered all of 6 minutes after launch, and who knows when I'll get it. Apple says by May 8th, but whatever. I didn't find any for just $100 over, or I for sure would have bought one. I did make offers of $120-$150 over, and no takers...

It's Apple's fault for not producing enough to meet initial demand.

My wife got her watch on the 24th. I ordered hers after mine, and it came in on the 24th. She did NOT like it. She was ready to take it back.

Well, like an idiot, I taught her how to use it, and now she likes it.

I say idiot, because i could have either 1) worn it myself until mine arrived or 2) sold it for a profit.

I would have ZERO issues with selling it for a $100 profit. It's not illegal. I didn't buy it just for the purpose of scalping either. And honestly, I'm not really bothered by those who do buy for scalping. It's up to Apple to control the secondary market they create. Supply/Demand and opportunity… how can you blame people for not taking opportunities? I wouldn't do it, but if I was hurting for money I'd sure consider it.

Congrats! I've been following your posts. Glad you finally got it.

I thought you had ordered the SS BSB though?

OP don't feel bad, u know u wanted the watch so by you going with your guts means you do what u want to do. U don't have to justify to others.

you are the reason they exist.

Always have to stay strong, the  lust is strong in this one.

$100 extra is not bad. At least you didn't get totally ripped off.

Actually, yeah you are right, that wasn't too terrible.

$100 more than MSRP or $100 over the MSRP + tax?

We all love our gadgets. Admitting you have a problem is the first step.

Congrats!

I just sold my space grey sport for a lot more than $100 more..

Smart move. Almost none of those have shipped out it seems.
