I know many of you guys have seen me fanboy'ing iPad and iPhone in the threads. I am a converted windows user, and have been proud of my new apple home.

However, I have the 3GS, since last July? I am able to pay for the new 4G, AT the 399 price, but is all basically this new iPhone 4 is, is:

A New Display
Camera(s)
WiFi Video Chat
Faster

Thats basically it?
 
and 512MB RAM. Pretty nice upgrade I think, though I would not have bought one if AT&T had not accelerated my upgrade eligibility. I would not have paid $399. I would have waited for the iPhone 5.
 
Aside from the obvious hardware upgrades (you missed double the RAM and gyroscope) I think the apps that will come out will also make the 4 worth it. There are going to be a lot of apps that won't run on a 3Gs considering the huge hardware bump 4 has.

But yeah it's a personal thing- if you don't feel like you will use those features then wait for iPhone 5 and save some cash!

you guys this iPhone 4 will be on Nintendo DS level? not 3DS but like the DSi,etc.
 
Lol what else is there to upgrade on a phone other than the display, speed, and cameras?

Well, hardware-wise:

- New display with IPS and LED Backlight
- Rear camera of 5 mp and flash, 720p video recording
- 1Ghz A4 chip, double the RAM (developers can use this for better apps)
- Front facing camera, video chatting
- Gyroscope
- 802.11n WiFi (highspeed WiFi)
- New design which also functions as an atenna
- Second mic for noice cancellation
- Microsim
- Way better battery

The new processor and the double RAM could really come in handy. iMovie can't even run on the iPad, but it does on iPhone 4. I can even remember the time that computers had only 512 MB of RAM and a >1 Ghz processor.

I know, its just funny because had I just opened the thread I would have not even thought about that, but since you wrote it in your title, after reading your post, the first thing I asked myself was "Is this person trolling?"

Anyways, to answer your question, yes basically those are the upgrades, but I think a lot of people would find those to be quite significant, whereas the way you have it written it seems like minor upgrades.

Notable upgrades that i see are:

Retina Display
5MP Camera
Front facing Camera
Faster (A4) processor
More ram
New design
Better battery life
Gyroscope

Gyrosensor
512mb ram
bigger battery
new antenna
better material all around (glass, stainless steel,etc)
new OS (which will be on a few models of iPhone)
new design

I miss any on top of the 4 you listed?
 
thinner, better glass and glass on back, imovie, better battery, and many other things. you just chose the obvious in the op.

Not many people would view the microsim as a welcome addition since they do not know the good effects of it. They'll just view it as a nuisance of a smaller sim.

I was reading an article the other day about how Nintendo is considering the iPhone to be it's new #1 threat. I don't think we will see 3D on our phones any time soon (I'm just saying- watch they will launch one in a few months) but yeah I think the gyroscope will open the door to some sweet game ideas.

That 3DS looks baaadassss. But I haven't been keeping up with mobile gaming that much since I bought my iPhone.

is this a joke?

the point of what apple is doing is showing what the 4 has OVER/CHANGES/IN CONTRAST over the 3GS.

Basically it is saying," We have white in the iPhone 4, their is no white in 3GS".

Webmaster or whoever screwed up.
 
so does that noise cancelling help with actual PLACED CALLS? or only like recording. sorry if thats a stupid question..

also..here it comes.

THAT guys recorded that with the iPhone 4 right? Why it doesen't give a 720P option on youtube?
