so does that noise cancelling help with actual PLACED CALLS? or only like recording. sorry if thats a stupid question..

also..here it comes.

THAT guys recorded that with the iPhone 4 right? Why it doesen't give a 720P option on youtube?

Because

1. He recorded it with the VGA-quality front-facing camera, not the rear cam.
2. It is vertical.
3. It may have been exported from the phone at small/medium resolution
4. It may have been uploaded at a lower quality.

The first reason cancels out the other three, though.

And it should help even more with placed calls, as from this distance I can imagine both microphones picking up similar things as they're both unobstructed and at the same distance from his mouth/the background. When you hold it up to your ear, the top mic doesn't get your voice, only the background, while the main one gets both. It'd be easier in this situation to cancel out more unwanted noise, so I can only imagine it working better during calls.

well give a few months after releasing and ppl will go back to saying how boring it is to look at because of the tiles. It's the software side that needs more of an upgrade.

Saying "not being a troll but..." is like saying "no offense, but <insert offensive comment here>".

Your real intentions are very apparent.

funny charlieboy!!!! funnnnnyyyy!!! yeah!

anyways! so crap im sorry, this is sorta new, the friggin front camera is not the same as the back? so what MP is the front? kinda wack now IMO.

but the noise cancelling thing, althought possibly quite the least biggest upgrade highly interests me, because its annoying when people are like "what!?, i cant hear you, its loud!"

Steve jobs even said it in the keynote, and it was reported on during the keynote and even before it with the leaked iPhone 4. This is the furthest thing from new. Besides, were you satisfied with the quality of the front facing camera? It looked pretty damn good to me.

You should really spend sometime reading about the iPhone 4.

http://www.apple.com/iphone/features/

You see, things are packages... ...and iPhone 4 has many "little" feature that make it so good overall.

Personally the 3GS is more than OK especially 'cause you'll get iOS 4 for free as well, and the hardware overall is good.

A more "necessary" upgrade would be from 3G and especially 2G.

Lol what else is there to upgrade on a phone other than the display, speed, and cameras?

And the design. All of which have been done.

Guys, I have a 10 year old Toshiba laptop. I just don't know whether I should upgrade. As I see it, all that's different is the speed, the quality of display, the design, and the battery life.

I would not spend twice the normal cost for a one generation jump personally. I'm on my 3G right now, skipped the 3GS and have my 4 on reserve.

Bingo! You can marginalize anything.

iPhone 4 is an enormous upgrade. Anyone who tells you different is probably jealous.

a lot of people have upgrade eligibility even with purchasing a 3GS

my sister used my upgrade to buy a 3GS in october and im upgrade eligible with my 3G now since I am the primary line

New thinner design is a plus for me!
Also, selling my old 3G makes it a no brainer!

Not so much the thinness as much as being flat on the back, so I can use it on a table like the first iPhone.

I prefer android over iOS but even I think this is a LOL thread, it's like saying "I have a G1 why would I want a samsung galaxy s? It's just a better screen and hardware." I hate to break it to you, but that is pretty much what every phone upgrade will be ever.

I think the new hardware is going to open the door for some cool apps. Jail-broken style or otherwise.

I am still using a 3G so it's also a no-brainer for me as well.

I think it's funny when people list features and then are like "That's it?". It's like looking at a Bugatti Veyron and saying "Yeah I know it's a street legal car that goes over 200 MPH and a major engineering achievement. But is that's it?"

will the phone have LED flashing lights/LED lights? like the sidekick did.
No. Have you even looked at the web site? You'd find the answer to a number of your questions if you actually took the time to read.

I have the 3G, so I'm going to upgrade. However, I'm going to wait until the furor dies down.
