i feel that even if the only thing they updated was the battery it would be worth it.
or if they just updated the design, that would do it for me.
is this a joke?
the point of what apple is doing is showing what the 4 has OVER/CHANGES/IN CONTRAST over the 3GS.
Basically it is saying," We have white in the iPhone 4, their is no white in 3GS".
Webmaster or whoever screwed up.
Each iteration of the iPhone have had what seems to be minor upgrades. This one is no different. If you don't need to have the latest and greatest iPhone then don't upgrade. Going from 3G to 4 is a pretty huge upgrade.
So just curious what is this "5.8-Mbps HSUPA" 3gs doesn't have it what kind of practical difference will there be with this added.
Apple is number one as far as customer satisfaction, design, and quality. When you are at the top, a lot of people want to bring you down. I feel like a lot of people that talk bad about the iPhone are people that more than likely have never owned an iPhone, and went the Android route or the Blackberry route.
When they see something they can't have (contract obligated to a different carrier) they try to make themselves feel better by knocking the iPhone down a few pegs to make themselves feel better that they're not going to own one. Now this is definitely not true about everyone, but I GUARANTEE its the truth for a lot of trolls.
If the iphone 4 is a "minor upgrade," what in the name of god are you waiting for? I can honestly say, once I have mine, I don't know that I'll feel the need to upgrade for a few years. This is probably the FIRST time I've been completely satisfied with an Apple upgrade.
Well, hardware-wise:
- New display with IPS and LED Backlight
- Rear camera of 5 mp and flash, 720p video recording
- 1Ghz A4 chip, double the RAM (developers can use this for better apps)
- Front facing camera, video chatting
- Gyroscope
- 802.11n WiFi (highspeed WiFi)
- New design which also functions as an atenna
- Second mic for noice cancellation
- Microsim
- Way better battery
The new processor and the double RAM could really come in handy. iMovie can't even run on the iPad, but it does on iPhone 4. I can even remember the time that computers had only 512 MB of RAM and a >1 Ghz processor.
At WWDC, Steve Jobs mentioned that there were over 100 new features on the new iPhone 4. he went thru 8 of those features during the presentation, so there are still at least 92 more features that we are not aware of yet.

Years? 4G will be around next year and by all accounts it blows away the speeds we're seeing via 3G on ATT. And with those increased speeds you'll probably see Facetime open up to cellular support too. I'm thinking next years iPhone is going to be the one to own, and the one after that will be the equivalent of the lackluster 3GS release.
ATT won't be rolling out 4G until 2012. So, either get the iPhone 4 and you can upgrade to 4G in two years, or you can wait for Apple to role out the iPhone to a competing service that may offer 4G earlier.
My point is, don't wait for next year's model thinking it may be 4G compatible. Maybe it will, maybe it won't, but there won't be any ATT 4G for it to use.
He meant in iOS4. And we know about them. Many of them are of the Ho-hum yawn variety.
I meant the iPhone 4, not the OS.
If you watch the keynote presentation again, Steve says there are over 100 new features and that he is only covering 8 of them. Watch the presentation again, it is on the Apple site and it is just past the 30 min mark.
<nevermind> most features will be driven by the OS.
