I've been nursing my wife's Galaxy S6 with it's memory issues and quirky Android OS, but it is a gorgeous phone. Wish Apple would drop in a 5.1 inch HD screen with wireless charging and a 14nm processor. THAT would make me jump in September!!

Sounds like an i7 wishlist to me, although we may be pleasantly surprised.

That's not always true. The 5S saw a huge improvement with supported LTE bands. That alone was worth the upgrade.
yeah i wud go with 5S as it is huge improvement .. bt not because 4G as my 5 picks 4g signal .. only o2 here not working.. but i dont use o2 so no issues ..
I have compared 5 and 5S and S is very fast .. even handling cydia loading installing ..

I prefer to stay with 6+ , worth more wait for the ip7..Ip7 will be a HUGE UPGRADE from the 6s... S are not worth the upgrade forthe people who already own an non S.. FORCE TOUCH is nice , and 2gb is nice... but no design change??no worth the upgrade, if Apple wont change the design
yes start saving from now on and in one year u will get some quarters/pennies .. and easy to buy iP7

Usually I am ready for every Iphone upgrade, but this September I will definitely be on the sidelines. I really like my Iphone 6. I put an AirCharge wireless charging case on it and I really can't see anything that Apple will do in September that will make me purchase a new Iphone. Force touch, a better processor, even slightly better screen resolution just don't do it for me. I think they will probably sell a lot of Iphone 6S, but not nearly as many as the Iphone 6.
I'm with you on this one. I couldn't care less about Force Touch. Tried it on the Apple Watch in an Apple Store and I don't think it's user friendly. Also tried it on the new MacBook and MacBook Pro and I still cannot see the point of having it. But I'm sure I'm wrong and by using it on a daily basis it makes lots of sense.
Anyway, I don't care about Force Touch. I don't care about having a better camera (front and or back) and I would really see no point of having it faster, as it's already blazing fast as is.
So, for the first time since... since basically the beginning of the iPhone, I have no clue what would be the motivation for me to upgrade this year.
The 3G had... 3G ;), the 4 had a new design, the 4S was faster (needed) and had Siri, the 5 had a new design, the 5S had Touch ID.
I'm sure, as you're saying, that Apple will sell lots and lots of 6S, but in terms of the upgrade, I don't see what would drive me to upgrade this year.
Hopefully Apple will change my mind in a couple of months ;)

Why do you even have an iPhone? Sounds to me like your life would be fine with a regular phone.

Would be nice to be able to do Apple Pay and I have a 5s so the 6s would have that advantage for me. Unfortunately, my most often credit card isn't Pay supported.
For me I could wait but not sure I want to wait a year and I'd really hate to buy a new phone 1/2 through the year.
The other issue for me is that I'm on one of those phone plans where, in reality, I'm paying for my phone every month even if I kept it forever (phone cost included in rate) - I hate for vendor to be making more money off me.
I always say who knows but then I always order first minute I can anyway.

Got my 6 Plus the day they came out, and have loved it every day since.

That said, I'm waiting excitedly for the 'S' model and will be getting one the day they come out as well. The 'S' models always offer compelling (to me) upgrades in performance and/or functionality. Can't wait. :)

The 4s WAS FASTER, NOT IS SLOW SO SLOW

Doesn't this discussion get old? Anyone? It's the same every single year. The only thing that changes is the text after the word iPhone.

You'll have that one guy who is "still satisfied" with an iPhone from three years ago, and another guy who buys a new phone every three months because he has a disorder with not having the absolute latest piece of glass and plastic. It's so predictable.
Then why are you bothering to read it? Many new people here and the discussion is new to them.

i think that Apple is capable to make you change your mind, we don't know what it could bring next.
