NOT getting notified about “Special” Apple Watch Challenges

I continue to not receive any limited edition award challenge notifications. There are no longer ANY limited edition awards displayed on my phone's awards screen but they do appear on my Watch's award screen. I did get awarded the veterans day, thanksgiving, and ring in the new year challenge *ON MY WATCH ONLY* but have not received the unity award or the valentines day award at this time (nor is there a dimmed "earn this" icon). I also continue to not receive or submit shared data with friends despite multiple unpair/repair and rebooting of both the phone and watch.

My Watch 3's battery health is very good so I can't justify an upgrade at the moment in the hopes that it will solve these ongoing issues. But it is frustrating as hell!

Figured I'd find a thread here about this. My wife got the notification yesterday about International Women's Day Challenge today but I do not get notifications on my watch about challenges but like others, I typically hear about them when they get announced in the media. While its too late for this challenge, I did go in to the settings others have screenshot above and turned off the notifications and turned them back on. While it seems dumb, I've had issues on Mac OS in the past after OS updates where a previously working on/off function was fixed by just toggling off and back on so I guess I'll have to wait for the next one to see if this did the trick. Just odd that some people get it...some don't.
 
Not getting any notifications seems to be pretty common. I get most of them, but find the notification to be pretty subtle sometimes. If I get it first thing in the morning when I put on my watch, I sometimes miss it (as it comes in with several other notifications.

Nevertheless, figured we could use this thread to post about upcoming Special Badges. If anyone hears of one coming up & posts here, everyone else who is subscribed should find out about it in time to participate.

So with that in mind, it looks like Apple has 2 special badges for April 2021.

April 22- a 30 minute workout will get you an Earth Day Badge
April 29 - a 20 minute dance workout will get you a Dance Day Badge

Thats a great idea! Most definitely. I don't get ANY notifications regarding any upcoming special badge opportunites on my apple watch series 4 or my iPhone 11 Pro so this thread is my main source of finding out about upcoming badges. and yes, i can see the link you posted in the post. Thanks again

Yep! the Dance challenge is brand new, never seen that one before (and i've owned an apple watch since the first one launched several years ago)
 
I haven't seen any official notifications, but if anyone is following this thread, there were 2 special challenges in June last year.

World Environment Day challenge was on 6/5/20 (World Environment day is June 5 every year). Last year was the first time for this challenge, as they skipped the Earth Day Challenge in 2020. Since they did that one this year, there's a good chance they skip it this year, but wanted to mention it just in case.

Also, they did a Yoga Day Challenge to celebrate International Day of Yoga (which is June 21 every year). I haven't seen any official notification on this one either, but definitely something to keep an eye out for.

I didn’t even notified for National dance day. I completed the challenge and never received an award. I gave up on their special challenges and just am going to focus on my monthly challenges.

We are all in the same place in terms of not getting notified on the watch or phone, That’s why it’s especially important to keep this thread live and going to stay informed about upcoming achievments! The only reason I got the dance challenge was thanks to this thread!

I ended up getting all my special challenge rewards, but there's been delays, missing icons, and all kinds of weird things going on before finally they give me an award a few days later....
 
I’ve been getting notifications pretty consistently the day before the badge opportunity. It comes first thing in the morning and if I’m not paying attention, I will miss it.

Since tomorrow is international yoga day, I checked my notifications and I did NOT get one. Obviously not definitive, but I think it’s unlikely that they are doing that one tomorrow.

The past two years it’s been June 21.

No. No icon for the World Environment day. How would I go about achieving this challenge then? This sucks.
