So first people complain that Apple holds back features in order to profit for future generations, and now you're whining that they gave you too much?!?! WTF!?

WWDC2011 will definitely have to include OS X because an upgrade will be far due according to Apple's pattern of releases. Snow Leopard isn't the final version of Apple's cursor based operating system although the end may be near. iOS is the inevitable successor but not for at least a couple more years. That said, WWDC will be shared by OSX 10.7, iOS 5 and iPhone 5.

Next year, 3 major technology elements will become mainstream or at least cutting edge and Apple will need to apply them to iPhone:

  • Wireless charging
Next generation consumer portable gadgets will be adopting this en masse towards the end of 2010 so it's natural to expect iPhone to follow suit. Look for iPod or iPad to become the testing bed for this tech since these have more wiggle room inside the case for hardware additions where iPhone is packed as tight as possible right now.
  • Tactile feedback
The major hesitation holding touch screen technology from making the keyboard obsolete is that one can't touch type. You must still look at the screen as you type, no matter how much practice you have. Apple may address this in the next iPhone or the one after that.
  • Pico Projector
This one might still need a couple more years in the oven to become miniaturized enough to fit inside an already packed and slimmed down iPhone. Apple may choose to skip this in iPhone 5. There's no doubt that a lot of gadgets (some phones) will happily sacrifice the slim factor for the bragging rights of having a "full size screen" virtually packed into a mobile phone.

OP, you sound like this guy. :D

There will continue to be things added that we haven't even imagined. Besides the CrackBerry, the smart phone market sucked until the iPhone emerged. It was a game changer, the next big thing just needs to be thought of.
