Notifiedpro

Just downloaded the latest beta (1.99.5-3) together with the Notification Bar plugin and I must say that I am very impressed.

It is a shame that email notifications do not work yet. I installed the BETA email plugin but it just crashed the mail app. As a workaround I installed 'Mail Enhancer' and modified the language file to get rid of the unnecessary "You have a message from.." text.

You can change the popup notification to display at the top or bottom and I like the way it disappears automatically in an animated fashion.

how did you get notified to register the mail notification without mailenhancer popping up a duplicate?

not sure if it does or not, haven't used it since i switched to lockinfo, but lockinfo has full support for bitesms and with the infoshade and homescreen it functions as the best notification system i have found thus far...

I just set Mail Enhancer to display a popup and set Notified Pro to block all popups from the lockscreen and homescreen.

I do not have the Notified email plugin installed and do not get any duplicates.

I just uninstalled BiteSMS a few days ago as I was playing about with mobilenotifier and it opened the default mail app instead when replying to texts :(

I have a few Bite credits left so I can reinstall it and try if you like? I know that in this beta version of Notified that there is a redirection setting that allows you to open up a different app when the popup appears.

I am a big fan of Lockinfo and the only drawback for me is the way it looks hence why I am looking at alternatives such as Notified /Mobilenotifier etc. Is there a more IOS looking theme available other than the preinstalled IOS theme?
 
I have only recently started using Lockinfo. I dont really know to much about it. I do have it setup with bitesms and that works great. Can you explain how the infoshade works?

you can d/l themes for lockinfo, you can also create your own to make it look like mobile notifier if you wanted. You would just have to theme the headers to look like mobilenotifier

enable the info shade in the settings and then you can swipe down from the statusbar and you will see an info shade. You can customize it to only show headers you want and you can make it so they only show if there is a notification for that header or it can always show.

Just reinstalled BiteSMS and setup Notified. Without changing anything in Notified, I received a Message notification and the BiteSMS notification in the status bar. Tapping the BiteSMS status bar icon brought up the BiteSMS Quick Reply. Tapping the Message icon on the Notified notification brought up the stock SMS app reply :(

Therefore I set Notified to redirect SMS notifications to BiteSMS and when I tapped the Message icon on the Notified notification, it brought up the BiteSMS app.

Therefore a very quick test reveals that it does work but does require more testing.

Many thanks - I totally forgotten about this. The headers are just a bunch of PNG's so I can easily modify them.

yeah but i think they were asking if it would pop up your quick reply box when you click on the sms, at least that's how lockinfo does it and that's how i would prefer it. quick reply is the best feature of bitesms, i don't want the app to open when i click the notification, i want the quick reply bubble

this is a great app.

i noticed a few things though, sometimes when i open the camera app a white bar will appear where the status bar is when i hold the device landscape.
 
has the statusbar notification been updated? it came out last year

has he released a beta at least?

Could you send me your language file to get rid of that. I looked at it but I'm not sure which part to change. I liked how it just has

How did you get the Facebook, mail, etc. icons to show up?

The status bar is not per your screenshot. You just get an exclamation mark now next to the battery icon.

You need to edit:

/var/mobile/Library/MailEnhancer/MailEnhancer.bundle/English.lproj/Localizable.strings

Backup the file first, open it and search for //-> Notification strings, then make the changes below:

"You have a message" = "";
"You have a message\nfrom: %@\n" = "%@";
"You have a message\nfrom: %@\n subject: \"%@\"" = "%@: %@";
"You have a message from %@" = "%@";


I have modified this file to account for single emails and NOT multiple emails received from the same sender.

I ensured that the "Custom icons" setting was set to OFF within Notified. I did nothing special for Facebook but in order for the mail to work, I had to install a third party tweak called "Mail Enhancer" which has the option of displaying a popup when you get an email. Notified see's this as a normal notification and automatically displays the icon for the mail.app

The statusbar in that pic is a separate add-on

It has never been updated as far as i know


When im doing something i dont want to be bothered with a popup or a slide down thing, the statusbar is perfect, it doesnt stop what im doing when i get the a message

I agree. How about OpenNotifier? I liked this tweak as you can customize the icons and looks integrated with IOS.

I switched to mobile notifier even though I prefer notified mainly because I use the quick reply function so much. I keep asking the notified dev on twitter about bitesms QR integration and he never replies :(
