I switched to mobile notifier even though I prefer notified mainly because I use the quick reply function so much. I keep asking the notified dev on twitter about bitesms QR integration and he never replies :(

I would have settled for working Email notifications, but they wouldn't answer those questions either.

Looks like the dev dont give a **** about us

That's too bad cause i liked notified pro better than mobilenotifier

But mobilenotifier gets all the headlines

Only reason why mobilenotifier gets all the headlines is because it is completely unique from notifiedpro. Notifiedpro bares too much of a resemblance to androids notifications which I'll admit is a far superior notification system then iOS will ever be. In my experience mobilenotifier is a complete joke to me after trying it for a day. Android got the notifications system right the first time, so they have the spotlight on that and mobilenotifier has their spotlight because iOS is in desperate need of a makeover.

I'm pretty sure the dev has taken alot of peoples emails/requests/ideas into consideration but probably has a busy lifestyle. People get lost in the shuffle. Patience is all for now and I'm sure when the next update comes, it'll be worth it.

If notifiedpro was open source, we'd all get what we would want.

Makes me wonder why apple hired the mobilenotifier dev. It's simple but very unpolished. Notified is close to being perfect for me but the few options users have been asking for have not been addressed in a very long time. The things that have changed gave it some polish but it seems like he has given up on some core functions we want for the time being. Who knows if we will see or even need them by the time iOS 5 launches.

Is this thing a memory hog? I'm trying to figure out what's eating up all my memory and I can't tell if this is a resource hog or not.

Anyone notice that with the latest notified pro and mailenhancer emails are coming in and auto being marked as read? Its not all emails but in a stream of 10 new emails, like 8 show up as read. I have missed many emails as a result.

hey experts is there a way to change the color of the dropdown white background to black?

and also change the text color

I'll throw in my .02...

I have no idea what the fuss over MobileNotifier is.

-I like the popup on the top of the screen to notify of a new alert, but MN doesn't go away after a few seconds. You have to do something with it, whereas in the iOS 5 beta it goes away after a few seconds and stores it in Notification Center. Obviously much better.
-The lockscreen implementation of MobileNotifier would be nice if you hadn't used any other program, but you can't open an app from there or even do a quick reply for SMS. So it's just ugly and unhelpful to me.

I think Notification Center is phenomenal. It works great, ability to add widgets (at least with a JB device), it looks fantastic... Notifications show up on the top for a few seconds then disappear... Apple got it right here.

The only thing I can think of is that they want Hajas to help with a QuickReply. Not sure what else he can bring to the table.

And I'll also note, biteSMS' QuickReply functions even better than MNs. So once again, don't know why he is now employed by Apple.

ANYWAYS... after downgrading from the iOS 5 beta, I'm really missing Notification Center. And after trying the likes of LockInfo and MN, I am back to trusty Notified Pro to handle my Notifications. I have LockInfo on the LockScreen, but Notified Pro for my infoshade.

Notified Pro isn't perfect and the lack of support from the dev is a bummer, but it is easily the best option we have for iOS 4.x.

Mobile Notifier notifications do go away after a few seconds...

As for them bringing him there to help with quick reply or anything like I really doubt to be accurate. It isn't like Apple couldn't have done it themselves and they certainly don't need a kid working on a jailbreak app to come and show them how it's done. I would say it has more to do with, he is a talented developer on the iOS platform, why not hire him to work on iOS, not just to school your team on how to do any certain thing.

did the beta just expire for anyone today?? why does this keep happening. just remove the beta part if you're not gonna push out updates...

Yes, all betas expire after a short period of time. Every time it expires and gets renewed, it means the dev is pushing out an update.

Relax.

What is everyone doing since the beta expired? Since the notifications don't work for me, I uninstalled the app, and downloaded MobileNotifier from Cydia. If anyone has a recommendation on how to get the app working again, I would appreciate it.

i went back to my official copy. its unfortunate when the dev has last released a beta with all new features ive gotten used to... and doesn't push out an update (and may not intend to) when the beta expires. just saying.

yes, i appreciate all his hard work, and i bought an official copy, but wish he would just continue working on the app, or at least publish as is, despite notification center on the horizon.

thx tho

Got the beta expiration message here too this morning. I was absolutely mortified. I'm at work now and keep staring in disbelief as various missed calls and push notifications all appear on my screen in that dreaded blue box!

Just an update from the app developer. He's working on an update.

EmilioPelaez: I was quite busy yesterday but I'll be submitting an update to the @NotifiedApp beta soon.

**** the beta. When the official update dropping ?

Seriously struggling with the old notification system as of last night :) Was down the pub with some friends and a stream of text/sms messages came in. It was embarrassing to have to unlock the phone constantly just to remove that blue box off the screen.

Latest update is out. Looks like nothing has been changed bar the beta expiration message being removed :/

Wonder if I could a bit of help. I read thru the last few pages of this thread and am somewhat confused about what is going on with these notification apps.

I tried MobileNotifier and really didn't like it. It doesn't mark stuff read, major fail.

Is everyone using NotifiedPro happy with it? I noticed there were some comments about the development of the app? Is it missing something? There is no trial so I would like to find out as much as possible before I plunk down the $$.

One last thing. Is there a major difference between NP and Notified?

Thanks for your help.
