FYI - For those of you who added AppleCare, make sure to check the coverage date. They set mine to the ship date (Nov 20) but from what I can tell... it's still in Narita and won't be here until next week. I just called AppleCare and they've let me know that I can call back once I do receive the machine and they will update the start and end date accordingly.

Good to know. I just got my email and coverage ends Nov 21st so I'll make sure to get it adjusted since it's not supposed to arrive till the 30th.

Went to "Shipped" on Sunday, with a delivery date of the 28th (Fedex also showed that), next Monday. Doorbell rang this morning (the 23rd), and there it was.

Migration Assistant tells me it'll take 25 more hours to complete the transfer from the Time Machine backup of my old machine.

That's awesome, good for you! Enjoy your new machine once migration is complete. How much data are you migrating and what interface are you using? Just curious about the 25 hours...

Mine (FedEx) left Anchorage on the way to Memphis a couple of hours ago. Still scheduled for Monday, but it could conceivably arrive Friday.

Anyone else's MacBook shipping via DHL? How long did it take before the shipment was visible on the DHL site? Mine shipped yesterday morning but DHL can't find the tracking number.

Same no tracking number on dhl and its dispatched but it says delivers 30th next week

How necessary is it to get Apple Care? I leave the US in December and back to India, so will it still make sense for me to purchase it, considering Apple might not even extend full Apple Care services in India.

Not if it won't cover you in India unless you want to travel to the US to get it repaired, so I'd check that.

I've only had one issue with my MacBook Air which required a new display. It would have cost me $500 or so for it to get replaced but I had AppleCare so it was covered. Considering AppleCare cost me $260 since I was a student, it definitely paid for itself.

Mine went finally to PFS yesterday around 22h GMT, and was shipped this morning! Estimated delivery on the 2nd. Because I ordered a thunderbolt adapter, both the orders will be merged so I won't have a track number for a few days, but I'm happy anyway!

I scheduled my delivery for a hotel I'll be staying at next week. But when tracking my shipment yesterday morning I noticed that the computer had arrived at the FedEx sort facility near my house. I contacted FedEx and was able to pick up my loaded 13" TB yesterday evening. This new laptop is a huge step up from my 2013 MBA!

My MacBook originally had a pick up date of Dec. 2. After it shipped, the pick up date moved up to Nov. 29. Using my cellphone number and Apple store zip code as the UPS references, the tracking information says it will be delivered to the store tomorrow. Hopefully I can pick it up tomorrow!

Almost 1 TB from a Time Machine backup, via hard-wired gigabit Ethernet.

I was going to transfer via time machine, but i'm going to try airdrop (old mac to new mac) first. Should be faster than USB right?

I would actually think that OTA would be slower... I also have a older mac (only USB 2.0) but my external hard drive supports both FW800 and USB 3.0. I'm backing up my old machine via FW800 and will be migrating to the new MBP via USB 3.

Finally in Anchorage though delivery date still reads Wednesday... I would think that UPS can get it from Anchorage to Toronto in 2 business days (my original delivery date was Monday).

In Mount Hope, ON as of 6AM! In theory, UPS could deliver it today but no 'Out of delivery' scans just yet. Scheduled delivery is Monday.

I've been tracking mine that will be delivered to the Apple retail store for pickup. Apple orders site says a delivery of Tuesday but from the hidden UPS tracking info I found using the phone number as a reference I know its going to be delivered today and it has already arrived in the same city as the retail store.

I wonder how long it would take for the retail store to mark it as ready for pick up after it's delivered to them. I hope its soon i.e. ready for pickup tomorrow if it was delivered today.

Delivered !! :D
9:10 am Burbank CA via FedEX.

The expedited shipping with FedEX does work. It flew directly from Shanghai to Memphis, and then to Burbank from there this morning. Had it not been Thanksgiving, I'd have it yesterday itself.
