When I called and asked the guy told me t was impossible to lookup the stock he wasn't able to and to come in store.
I have mixing feeling now... Friday is the the day my cc has new statements. If they charge it before that, I may need to pay for it one month earlier... But I want my new macbook ASAP at the same time... Just wonder if it if pending or just charged expense for P4S states?
I have a 3-4 week preorder of 15" tb 2.9/512/16/460 but went in store today at Apple HQ in Cupertino. They had numerous base 2.7/512/455/16 in stock about less than 5 of silver and space gray. They looked up inventory for other stores and Los Gatos was the only other that had same specs but only in silver. I decided to just walk out with a base spec as graphic design/UI and photography editing is not cpu and gpu intensive for me to warrant the max specs.
I asked them about other stores in different specs, there weren't any maxed out specs currently with 1tb/2tb.
Only 13" tb in display and nothing to play with.
Valley Fair Apple Store was suppose to have their displays for 15" tb out today but they didn't get to and said they should have it out by tomorrow.

Stopped by my local Apple Store in Hawaii. They had all the models in stocked in both colors as well as the maxed out model w/1TB. They even had store demos as well.
Yeah, the worker showed me her iPod w/all the models they had in stock. Apparently, they were running low on the maxed out Space Gray by the time I was leaving.
I'm guessing people bought out all the maxed out ones yesterday since some reported they were able to get there's around the country.
Don't know what to say. Maybe he was being lazy or busy and didn't want to find out. The guy I talked to had to ask their stock guy because he didn't have much detail.
Sounds like not all employees have direct access to backroom stock levels.
Think I read somewhere once that only select employees have access to stock room.
They had a BTO of 512 and 460 video. My wait is finally over.
Interestingly enough I couldn't cancel my order online, no charge or PFS change. Used the gift cards so doesn't matter they don't have a way to charge me if they didn't let me cancel.

My last Apple computer was a Apple IIe. (Giving away my age a bit)
I'm upgrading from a 6 year old 17" Dell Studio. Windows 10 upgrade really turned it into a pain it the butt to use.
I want the maxed out 15" with 1TB for the next six years plus.
So unless the stores can provide my exact order I'm not settling for less just so I can get it one week sooner.

Congrats what CPU? Looks like a lot of people in this thread are getting them. Should free up for everyone else

This is honestly the last time I'll be preordering a machine. In 2013 when I preordered my Mac Pro I was waitlisted all the way to April 2014, and I prance into an Apple Store and find a BTO after watching my processing status like a hawk.
Same situation now, so I've learned to just wait for them to come the Apple Store. Having a preorder is absolute torture and it just takes away from my productivity.
It's cool. It obviously works just like the space gray. I just have a little bit of nagging feeling because I had my mind set on the space gray. I am going to wait until the weekend to decide to exchange it. If they run out of the space gray, I guess I'll be keeping the silver lol.
Don't get me wrong. I'd take one today if they had the same specs or better than I ordered. But only thing better would be with 2TB drive and I'm not paying for that.
