Now I realize... iPhone 4S is perfect for me...

What happened to one handed use?

It was the rejoice of the minute... Besides who else is going to give me $200 for an iPhone 4...
My iPhone 6 plus should be here in November... While that happens I'm rocking a Nokia 5202 $48.95 at WalMart nice phone for the price :-D

4s is a perfectly good phone. In fact, it is what I am currently using and have been since it launched. That being said, I am considering upgrading to a 5s mainly for a slightly larger screen size and to take advantage of the LTE capability that the 4s lacks on Verizon's network.

As a side note, posters here sure love making snarky, immature comments. What happened to the users who'd actually contribute to a thread and foster intelligent conversation?

I take it you haven't been on the internet in a few years?

I had an iPhone 5S... I sold it to buy an HTC ONE M8... Just to try it out...
So... I just sold the HTC to buy and iPhone 6... While it arrives I'm using an iPhone 4S... This iPhone is perfect... I don't play games and I only watch Netflix or a YouTube video from time to time... Facebook and phone calls feel about the same as any other of the mentioned phones...
Probably I will just cancel my iPhone 6 order...

that's good news.

The 4S is cute. Like a little hobbit phone.

Loving the 6 Plus.

Godspeed. Netflix would look incredible on an iPhone 6.

It looks awesome!

Who sells their iPhone "just to try" Android?

I did . Came back though!

Well here in California we don't have hurricanes like you guys do. I would be afraid to live over there with all the storms. Don't know how you all do it.

Here we have earthquakes and fires, if either of which was bad enough to need the land line, the house would already be destroyed anyway so it wouldn't do any good.

It's horrible. I was in Okinawa over the summer and a typhoon it. Worst thing ever. So glad I'm back in California, but I wish it would rain sometimes.

Though I can understand why people might hold onto older phones, be it for simplicity, ease of use (one-handed or otherwise), or simply because you don't feel like you need any more out of something designed to make phonecalls, I can't help but largely empathize with the people who might look at that attitude a bit incredulously. Sure a phone is to make phonecalls, but it's become so much more than that and to be so stubborn or uninterested as to not even try to embrace new technology and leave past phones in the past is, in a lot of ways, ignorant to me.

The modern phone has become so much more than people ever thought it would. It's far less about the simple convenience between you and the people in your contacts, and much more an extension of you to the rest of the world and the technology changing alongside it. That's just not possible with 4-year old technology, and it leaves you obsolete and irrelevant when it comes to connecting in a rapidly changing world.

Nope, I have been. I am an active member of various forums, and this is one of the worst as far as maturity is concerned.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's written in the forum rules that you need to have a mental age equivalent to half your chronological one. Though some of us rational people can and have slipped through the cracks.

The 4 series was pretty darn awesome. First serise I wasn't hungering to upgrade. The 4 serise felt great in the hand, they looked stunning, they were fast until ios8.

I for one will always have a soft spot for the 4 serise.

I upgraded to a 6 plus only because my 4 had slowed to a freakin crawl with ios8. While I enjoy my 6+ if my 4s hadn't been so difficult to use with iOS 8 is probably have waited for the 6s.

What I don't get about these forums is when someone disses apple they are a troll and when someone likes apple they are a troll.

Sounds like it's gotten worse in the last couple of years. Such a shame. Aren't the forums supposed to be a place for people to discuss their devices...has that changed? Now, are we all supposed to rip one another? Doesn't seem productive more device focused.

Seriously. After using the Plus for three weeks picking up my old 4S is a very strange experience. It's so small, it feels like a little child's toy.

I picked up my daughters iPhone 4s yesterday and I couldn't believe how great it felt in my hand. I loved how secure it felt. And I thank you for starting this thread, now that Apple just went "Big and Bigger" it is very relevant. And idiots who wonder why you would post this should learn to not go into threads in which they have an interest.

I like how the 4 series feels in my hand the best but I like bigger screens. So to me, the 5 series is the sweet spot. It is the best compromise between a larger screen and "grip-ability". If I could get the same camera as my iPhone 6 in the 5 series, I would go back to a 5.

Curious, barring LTE support, better cameras and faster hardware, what technology or software exactly are you missing on an iPhone 4 or 4S that would prevent you from "connecting to a rapidly changing world"? Last I checked, iMessage, Hangouts, Skype, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Whatsapp, Snapchat, etc. all work on an iPhone 4. And there's always Safari for web-based apps.

Please do so others who haven't gotten it shipped can get it sooner. I beg you. Please!!!!
My thoughts exactly. I know a couple of people who still haven't got their 6's and they most certainly do want them, unlike the OP.

OP, stick with what you like and don't worry.

Good news :-D I canceled my iPhone 6 order...
Now I just hope that when I install the iOS 8 update my iPhone 4s will continue being "snappy"

One hand use at its best :-D
You mean you've made a decision without actually knowing whether or not iOS 8 runs well on the 4S? A colleague of mine is waiting for the 6 to arrive and currently has a 4S. His battery life is appalling. This sin't happening to everybody though and you may be lucky, but its wise in future to test these things out before jumping in with both feet.

I very much doubt Apple will produce a 3.5 inch screen again any time soon and there is even talk of the 4 inch disappearing now the 6 is out. How long will your 4S last as hardware fails eventually. I would imagine the 4S has just one more update left as the iPhone 4 has been phased out as you'd expect after 4 years.

One hand use is great and it depends on the size of your hands, but I can operate the 6 one handed and I didn't think I would. You quickly adapt and learn to use devices differently. I think you should have given it a chance, that is if you ever did have a 6 on order in the first place. :)

it's OK.

I sold my iphone 5 to get the ip6+, then I just found the ip6+ just wayyyy to big. I need a phone that can fit in my ski jacket without stress, or can sit in my skinny jeans pocket without thinking about it. So back went the ip6+

Right now I'm using a moto g 2014, and you know what... for a 200 euro phone, its pretty good!! I'm also keeping an eye on when the sony z3 compact drops in price.

I plan to return to the iphone world for the ip6S, but until then, it's OK to use other phones! :) Don't forget, in the words of Lego and Louie CK, EVERYTHING IS AWESOME! :)

Apple Pay, 64-bit architecture, TouchID, Slow-Motion Video, OIS, AirDrop, Lightning Connection, Dual-Domain Pixels/401 ppi, 2.7 times the RAM, Barometer, Larger, Polarized, Scratch-Resistant Screen...I mean, should I keep going or do you want to go ahead and take another shot at explaining how phones haven't become the slightest bit more versatile over the last 4 years? Because you're doing a great job of it thus far.

Aside from ApplePay and AirDrop (both of which are exclusive to Apple), none of the features you mentioned prevent the iPhone 4/4S from "connecting in a rapidly changing world". They're nice upgrades and are added convenience to be sure but not strictly necessary for communication.

I think if we're looking at a phone simply based on its merits as a phone, then yse, I'd agree that the iPhone 4S is the pinnacle of smartphone development. Rock solid construction, fully enclosed by a stainless steel structural antenna. Compact size that allows it to fit in any hand and any pocket. Before the worst thing that could happen to your phone was bending, it was simply not something you'd ever contemplate happening to the 4/4S.

I can't live without the features of the iPhone 6 Plus (OIS, massive battery, 1080p display, 4G LTE), but for someone who wants the simplicity of a phone with Siri, then the 4S really is one of the best smartphones ever made.
