I don't think anyone wants a taller phone. They want a wider phone. Which supposedly has been being tested the last several years if you believe the rumors.

I'd like a wider iPhone. I like the aspect ratio of my 4s.

Goofy?! I would love it!

Can we get a picture of someone holding a 50" flat-screen with the caption reading:

"Apple: giving people what they want since 2007."

As other posters have said - the iPhone will now increase in width and length in the same ratio. And just because Apple tests (and may release) a larger iPhone doesn't mean they'll dump the current sizes.....

Jesus, you people think you're the only person on the planet - "Apple should make it exactly how I want it". NEWSFLASH - there are LOTS of people who don't agree with your definition of the perfect smartphone.....some of us actually like the idea of a larger iPhone - or at least the option to buy one.

The cheap iPhone is happening. The large iPhone is happening. All you snobs need to a get a life. There are 4 types of people on this thread.....

-those who prefer Apple and can appreciate all tech
-those who prefer Android and can appreciate all tech
-those who think ANY change from Apple is an abomination (all while clamoring for change)
-those who think Android is superior because it has more GHz and cores and RAMs

exactly - everyone complains about how the iPhone is abnormally long because Apple did something crazy and only lengthened it (hence the "lightsaber" iPhone 10s....).

The reality is they switched aspect ratios. The fear that Apple will again lengthen the iPhone without also widening it by the same ratio is ABSURD. OF COURSE the iPhone will get wider if it gets bigger. Apple didn't simply arbitrarily elongate the iPhone, all they did was move to the standard 16:9 aspect ratio.

If a larger iPhone comes out, it will be both longer AND wider. When people cry about wanting a wider iPhone, what they mean is they want a bigger iPhone - because obviously, if the iPhone got only wider at this point, we'd end up with a square phone.....(or a widescreen TV like I joked about).

The whole "wider not longer" thing is a pet peeve of mine.....its a silly complaint made by those who are either trolling or ignorant of the change Apple made from the 4S to the 5.

(or they just want to go back to the 3.5" screen - I know there's a group out there who feels this way. I'm not talking to that group.)

But what if they DO switch ratios again? And it gets skinnier.

I agree the swipe to go back is in preparation for a larger phone....But they also need unify the toolbars better, right now between different stock apps, it's very disorganized.

They need to move more tools to a bottom toolbar, jumping from the top toolbar to bottom is already hard enough, but moving to a bigger phone it would help greatly to have many of the functions on the bottom.

If they bring out a large phone it has to properly be large, nothing that others will laugh at like 4.3 when the Galaxy is 5 or whatever, it need to be done well, something that will murder competition, I think this will happen next year however
