Apple asked for this and deserves it. If you've ever attended a keynote speech by Steve Jobs, you'll understand. He puts Apple products on a pedestal so high it's ridiculous. The iPhone has failed to impress as a phone. They've left the door open. Nokia simply walked through it.

As a former Nokia 5800 XP owner I can say that you probably don't even know how right you are.

If you're referring to the phone I think you are, then comparing a low-end touchscreen phone to something much higher-end is rather disingenuous.

Also, using ONE model to brand every phone they make as crap is not really that great either.

I wonder when is the last time nokia ever sold millions of phones over a weekend and actually had a phone that people stood in the Hot sun lined around blocks to get? :D

Sure the death grip thing was funny but Nokia's sales here in the US make me laugh even more.

Doesn't make them any less desperate. Sorry. The writing is on the wall.

Yes but it's microscopic writing, on an enormous wall.

Apple are never going to beat Nokia in terms of handsets sold or market share, simply because Apple only compete with them in a very small section of the market.

Next time try reading the quoted reply before going on some ill conceived, if brief, rant.

Were I making a comparison to another phone you might be correct. However I didn't. Your comment is really without merit.

As a former Nokia owner I can tell you, from actual experience, they make phones that I don't want to touch. They also make phones others don't want to touch as evidenced by the significant slide in their sales and their stock being downgraded.

Apple are beating Nokia into the ground in the Smartphone market, which is the only area in which Apple is choosing to compete with them at all.

Agreed.

But, I think there could be an arguement that more and more people are moving to get smart phones and there is less and less of a market for "regular" phones.

It may be that Nokia better get in the game more for smart phones cause eventually the market for the regular phones just won't be there anymore.

Technologies that are old do eventually get replaced especially as the newer technology gets cheaper and more accessible to people.

How many times have you seen a pay phone recently or evne felt the need for one?

Nokia sells millions of phones daily.

Also i can't get my nokia to have the same issues as people are reporting. No matter how i grip it.

Nokia's new Mobile Solutions head Anssi Vanjoki today launched a renewed effort to improve Nokia's standing in smartphones. He acknowledged that the company had lost its technical lead but said he was "obsessed" with getting the company back to the top spot.

I smell desperation.
