Now that you have accepted there is no iPhone 5

I agree there will be disappointment, but for everyone that is disappointed there will be at least 2 or 3 who will still upgrade simply because it is Apple. If there is a 4S today I will simply save my upgrade and wait.
I dont REALLY believe in an iPhone 5 either. That said, iPhone 4S with iOS 5 seems strange to me , for whatever reason.

My rational thinking is that Apple never does what the consumer wants. They do what they want. That would make sense since that's pretty much their motto, "We tell what you should be using and what the next big thing is". Not the exact words but the same idea. When all these Android phones had nicer cameras and bigger screens last year Apple released the iPhone 4. Still 3.5 screen but with retina display and a 5mp camera. All these Android phones have LTE while Apple will not have it till next year. If you accept that reality of how they operate, then you kind of know what to expect.
I have a 3GS and if the next iPhone isn't what i'm looking for I may pass. I may wait to see what the Nexus Prime has to offer.
Finally like everyone else has said, I still want to see what Apple has to offer at 1pm today.

I honestly feel they waited this long for a few reasons:
The delaying of the White iPhone 4
Readying iOS 5
Implementing 'Assistant' heavily into iOS 5.
I can see the benefits of driving and using Apple's assistant but my car has voice activation for calls and navigation. I cannot really see it being a huge benefit for students who don't own cars. If its so well integrated where you can send voice to text messages it will real useful for the blind.

You really should not proclaim such things 2 hours BEFORE a keynote.
You are baiting MR users into a fight. Period. You know this will get a reaction out of people here. Or you are just being insanely smug.
Also there is nothing rational about proclaiming outcomes before the game (keynote) has been played.
Can't believe so many of ya is getting trolled.
Think of it this way. My threads have cooled the heads of so many "larger screen newer design" fanatics that by the time the Keynote is here they won't go into a shock or something. I have helped holding the Apple community together this time.
Apologize for the confusion. When I said "you" I meant "most of you", which is the case as the tone of this forum has changed today and most people have started talking about how disappointed that there isn't going to be a 5. I was not proclaiming the outcome, but merely pointing out that most of people have accepted the most likely outcome.

I don't understand why everyone is so up in arms over the title of OP's thread. I, myself also don't think their will be an iPhone 5 introduced either. When I read this title of this thread, I believe he is speaking to me and others who share the same thought.
Once the keynote is over and all rumors are put to rest, while everyone is busy ranting and raving about getting a 4S and no new iPhone, we'll at least have thread around.
I think the posts on here will be just as entertaining as the keynote itself if Apple sets everyone one up for a let down. In the end, it won't matter. It's Apple and millions of people will buy it anyway. The world isn't going to end. /end rant

Even if Apple announces that they're getting out of the phone business, I won't accept it, and I'll stand in line forever. I'll get a Sharpie and write "iPhone 5" on my iPhone 4.

The event's not over yet. Apple loves to pull **** all the time. Sucks. Kind of wish they would just make a plain old press release instead of this cliffhanger ********.
The iPhone 4S is great (although they could call it an iPhone 5). New camera + specs in the iPhone 4 case, which is the nicest design ever. And it's not over yet!
Yea it's still a good phone and all but keep in mind that it took them not the usual one year but 1 1/2 years just to put a new cam and processor in the iPhone, a processor that the iPad has had for a couple of month now. I still have some hope they there will be an iPhone 5.
They did not even introduce new iPods either, just a "new" UI for the nano and a new color for the touch... hmm
Great, now when you go to the movies people will be talking to their phones instead of texting. It was bad enough hearing phone conversations on the train going to work ..... now people will be talking to their phones. Gimmicks gimmicks and more gimmicks .... all I wanted was a 4" screen.
