I think the fact that the 4s is really a minor upgrade of the Iphone 4 means the iphone 5 is coming in 2012...probably in June. Apple will not disclose this now because they want to capture sales on the 4s from those who do not wait any further. What I would really like to know is what is causing the delay in the iphone 5. It seems obvious the delayed launch of the 4s was because they tried to get the 5 ready, but failed.

Just sad!! All the hype atleast faster 4 type g speeds is the only thing I can see of use.

Rubbish. The phone is called whatever Apple brand it as....in this case, iPhone 4S. Just because it is the 5th in a line of products does not mean it is the iPhone 5. Did you ever call the iPhone 3G the iPhone 2? No?

No doubt about - that was the LAMEST keynote ever. It was so weak and lifeless. They say its a new iPhone, but a bit faster, new voice control and a better camera just isnt good.

How lame. Hopefully Tim Cook reads our reactions and gets his act together whenever the next iPhone is announced.

The beginning of Apple's 2nd decline for sure. 16 months in development for such minor upgrades? Where's your mojo Apple? People want what your known for delivering, beautifully different and elegant NEW hardware designs. This is a fail and I think Apple knows it. They probably tried to deliver a iPhone 5 but for whatever reason could not. I highly doubt it'll come before this time next year. Where was Ive during the presentation? Probably in the bathroom shaking his head contemplating a move to Samsung.

Sorry, this is nothing definitive. There is a new report every 20 seconds it feels on every Mac rumor related site saying something different.

Don't lose hope until the keynote is officially over. Now THAT is rational thinking.

Seems pretty weak to me it took apple this long to just do the minor upgrades they did.. They should be more truthful.. I willing to be the delay was all about the software and not a hardware issue at all...

I am a 3GS owner and it is my first ever smartphone. I got it on launch day.

I loved the iPhone 4 but didn't upgrade (was on contract still), so I've waited all this time hoping for an iPhone 5, but knew very well that a more modest, spec-bumped iPhone 4 could be the reality... and as it turns out, it is.

At this moment I am weighing rather to just get the 4GS despite how unimpressive it is, or go with a Samsung Galaxy S II, or wait a tiny bit longer and see what the Nexus Prime is like.

In any case, I will at least wait until the 11th to see what the Nexus Prime's features are like... and hopefully a lot of the rumors about it are true. In which case I am about 90% sure I will chose it.

Kind of displeased right now, but not upset since I am still considering an iPad 3 in 2012 as my first tablet (if it has a retina display)
