Just wanted to get an idea from those that have been using iMessage have you cancelled your texting plan?
If so, what are you thoughts about not having text any more? Any issues?

I found it to lower my daily battery by one hour and the Genius at Apple agreed.

I cancelled my text plan, and I don't miss it. I don't have any issues with iMessage. I love that i can text internationally, but I still have a couple of friends without an iPhone, hopefully they'll get an iPhone soon...

No, because not everyone has an iPhone. And plus the unlimited texting plan AT&T has gives you unlimited calling to any mobile phone. Though, it'd be nice to have a tiered text plan and still have that unlimited calling attached to it.

Nope. Because more than 50% of the people in Canada still use blackberries. No joke. Come to Toronto and see for yourself.

Out of the last ten people I texted, only two of them have an iPhone/iMessage, so no.

Plus, unlimited texts are a part of my sprint plan, so I couldn't cancel if I wanted to.

Almost none of my friends have iPhones, so I keep unlimited texting. Plus it's included with my family plan since my sister uses it too.

Although I have lots of friends who have iPhones, there are still who don't. Not to mention Redbox can't send copon codes through iMessage. :D

By the way, I pay $5 for 200 text messages which is more than enough.

Nope. iMessage is fairly useless to me. I've used it twice and then turned it off because it wasn't working properly. Never bothered to turn it back on again.

I turned it off, iMessage seems to use more battery than SMS and I got tired of having my messages not send, and wait 5-10 min to resend as an SMS...

Some messages I need an answer like immediately and they don't get my iMessage for 15 min, it was kind of annoying. Sometimes I sent a message and my cousin never got it.

You could have pressed the message and select send as SMS.

I know, but I'm too lazy, I have a family plan and unlimited texts, might as well use em, and when I press send, I know it gets there...

But yes that feature is avail to people who do want to use iMessage, I am just saying until it is polished, I have no need for it.
